There were around 3000 seats in postgraduate programmes at 22 IITs for the academic year 2025-26. JAM 2026 Scores will be used to admit the candidates subject to satisfying the ERs and MEQs and any other requirements, without any additional interview or written test. Result Sharing Institutes: JAM scores will be used for admission to over 2300 seats for postgraduate programmes such as MSc and MA at IISc and various NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, DIAT through Centralized Counselling for MSc / MSc (Tech.) Aspirants who have already completed an undergraduate degree (BSc) or are currently studying in the final year of undergraduate programmes are eligible to apply for the exam. Before starting the preparation for IIT JAM 2026 MSc courses, students must check the number of seats available for each course in particular IITs and NITs. After evaluating the number of seats candidates will be able to analyze the extent of IIT JAM preparation required by the candidates. If the number of seats for a particular degree course is more, then candidates can expect a higher JAM 2026 Score for competition than the courses for which the number of seats is less in proportion.

IIT JAM 2026 Exam Pattern
IIT JAM 2026 exam pattern states that each test paper is of three hours duration. In the exam, candidates need to attempt 60 questions which were of 100 marks weightage. These 60 questions are divided into three sections – A, B, and C. All these sections are compulsory and candidates need to attempt questions from all the sections. The medium of instruction for JAM test papers is English.

JAM scores will be used for admission to over 2000 seats for postgraduate programmes such as M.Sc. and M.A. at IISc and various NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, DIAT through Centralized Counselling for M.Sc / M.Sc. (Tech.) Admission (CCMN).
