Q:   What to do after JEE Main 2024 session 1 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 1 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2024 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main Session 1 score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analyzing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for JEE Main 2024 Session 2 examination.

One of the best colleges for engineering after IITs.
Placements: The overall placements are good. Almost all eligible students got jobs. The placement percentage of our branch was around 90%. Some of the students went for higher studies as well. Overall, the highest package in Chemical Engineering was 44 LPA from Microsoft. The highest package offered in core sector was 18.6 LPA, which was offered by BPCL to two students. Pidilite also offered the package of 18 LPA to one student. The lowest package was 3.60 LPA from TCS. And the average package was somewhere around 9–10 LPA. The top recruiters were BPCL GAIL, Microsoft, ExxonMobil, Reliance Industries Ltd. , Pidilite Industries, Saint Gobin, Tata Steel, Tata Consultancy Services, etc. For internships, it is somewhat difficult to get an on-campus internship. Only 10–12 students out of 84 got an on-campus internship in Reliance, Saint Gobin, Koel Fresh Pvt Ltd, etc. Most of my batchmates are looking for off-campus opportunities, including myself.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very good. It has almost every important thing on campus. For our course, most of the classes and labs were held in the Chemical Engineering department and some were held in the Lecture Hall Complex. The classes in our department are not very good in terms of ventilation; it's very difficult and suffocating during the summer and rainy seasons. There are no ACs or Wi-Fi in departmental classes. The rooms in the lecture halls are very good. They are fully air conditioned but Wi-Fi is also not there; we have to use our own data. The infrastructure of hostels is kind of good; we get all the basic facilities like water and electricity all the time, the room size is manageable, and the cleanliness is also very nice and regular. There is one fan, one tubelight, a table chair, and a bed provided by the hostel management. All rooms have LAN ports through which students can use unlimited internet using a LAN. The speed of the internet generally remains high. There is also one juice centre and a night canteen within our hostel, which have average-quality food.
Faculty: The faculty members are generally very helpful and supportive. Almost all faculty members of our department have Ph.D.s from reputed colleges in India. Some have post-doctoral degrees from foreign universities. They have good knowledge and their quality of teaching is good. Almost all of the course content is relevant except for a few subjects. I personally found 1-2 courses as interesting but they are manageable. They haven't revised the syllabus for some years but they are now doing that. They have now introduced new courses on AI and ML in chemical engineering for the upcoming batches. Also, there are mid-semester exams of 30 marks and end-semester exams of 50 marks, and the remaining 20 marks are provided by the professor as internal assessment, which includes class tests. The semester exams are not very tough, except for some subjects. Some faculty members follow previous year papers as a reference so it helps a lot to have an idea about the questions.
Other: I chose Chemical Engineering based on my interest. I chose 5-year dual degree course so that I can have a Bachelors and masters degree in 5 years. It saved me one year as compared to individual B.Tech. and M.Tech. courses of 6 years. However, there are fewer opportunities for us as compared to a B.Teach student but it is manageable. I think there should be some improvement required in our course, like the syllabus being revised and some less relevant subjects being replaced by some more effective subjects. Our college mainly has 4 big festivals in a year. INNOVISION is a technical festival where different events and activities are organised related to the latest technologies. VRIDDHI is the annual sports festival in which many sports events like football, cricket, volleyball, chess, swimming, etc. Championship are organized, and many students from other institutes also take part in the events. COSMOPOLITAN is the annual cultural festival where different events representing different cultures of india are performed by the students. NITRUTSAV is also a grand festival where the most exciting event is the Celebrity night, Last year, Admit Trivedi was the guest for the celebrity night. Rourkela is well connected with roadways and railways, and the nearest airport is Jharsuguda Airport. The campus is around 8 km from the Rourkela railway station, from which you can take an auto rickshaw.

This college has absolutely good facilities.
Placements: Out of the total number of students, 100% graduated, and there were a set of students who have opted to do courses to improve their skillset, whereas another 20% Of the total number of students have got placed from the college end . The highest package was 12 LPA, and the minimum was 32 LPA. The average package for my course is 6 LPA. The requirements for my course are like q spider and j spider, etc. Many of the seniors did internships with companies like Q and J. And also ITK, etc. The top roles offered by the companies are like developed tester and prompt engineer.
Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, the college stands on average scale and is still striving to achieve technological advancement. With the advanced technology and trainers, the department is putting in the most effort to give their students the best experience ever. The classroom and labs are very much self-cleaning and available at all times.
Faculty: The teachers have very good knowledge and are the most concerned set of people, and the teachers have good facilities, and teachers and students have good friendships and good relationships. Teachers and students have good relationships with each other, and teachers are good at teaching students, and students are always happy with that teaching.

Campus Life at NIT ROURKELA (INTEGRATED M.Sc. MATHEMATICS).
Placements: Around 50% student who applied were placed, but the opportunities for Int. M.Sc. student were very less, although Maths was better than all the other three branches. Also, if you have a very keen interest in coding then you can go for it. No coursework include or shall help you in the placement process. There are few companies who come for teaching Like Aakash, Fiit JEE Byjus etc. But ezcept FIITJEE and AAKASH there packages are too low.
Infrastructure: Overall infrastructure for college is very good, its a very beautiful campus you can never get bored of it. But again talkinh about Int. M.Sc. you will be very dissapointed whilst comparing to other B.Teach bramches. Hostels are great there are badminton courts and volleyball courts in all hostels. Food was also great in our time cant say for now. Hostels activities are very engaging intra hostel tournaments inter hostel tournaments and many more things.
Faculty: Faculty members are great, there are some teachers whom you might find not so engaging but on the other hand there are some professors who are more than willing to help, Curriculum is basically of pure Maths you won't get any taste of applied Maths so don't expect anything more from it.
Other: If you have a very keen interest in Maths then you xan go for it, else I won't suggest to go for int. M.Sc. math just for the sake of getting into NIT. Also the math that you will be taught here will be completely different from what you have learnt in 11th and 12th.

Placements are better than expected.
Placements: Around 380 companies came for placement in 2023 Student in the 7th semester can register for the placement cell Many good companies visited campus, such has Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Oracle, and IBM, and many core branch companies also visited, such as fractal and they all offered around 1200 jobs. In 2023, the highest package was offered 53 LPA and average package is 14.2 LPA Around 97 percent students get placed last year. I also want to sit under placement in the 7th semester and try to grab good opportunities.
Infrastructure: Our institute charges 10,000 rupees for hostel rent per semester. Our room consists of all the basic requirements, such as a table, chair, B.Ed., and LAN-able connection. There is no AC provided in the hostel rooms. Apart from that, there are sufficient automatic washing machines, water heaters in bathrooms, and water coolers for drinking water. Mess food quality varies from hostel to hostel. We have here a pure vegetarian cafeteria where pure vegetarian food is served without onion and garlic. Here, both boys and girls can come and take their food. The quality of food in the Pure Veg cafeteria is significantly better than in other hostels.
Faculty: There are many faculty members in every branch who have the potential to help every student, but as it is not possible in class, they provide their contact information for help. All the facilities have great experience teaching, and they give us assignments or take tests and evaluate students on the basis of class performance. The interaction between the students and the teachers is very easy. We can interact with them in class or in their cabins.
Other: The infrastructure is very good here. This is only NIT College, which has a lot of clubs to participate in. Most of the classes are air-conditioned and others have sufficient fans. Each class has projector.

Satisfied with every factor .
Placements: Over the years, our college has had a good rate of placements for students in seventh semester. Companies like Google, Qualcomm, Verizon, John Deere and Disney Plus will give job offer for the students Some of the government agencies also visit our campus like ONGC, BPCL, etc. We had the highest package of 50 Lacs and average of 13 Lacs. We have 98 percent of students getting placements.
Infrastructure: A hostel facility is given to everyone. It's 2 seater for boys. Can be one seater in some cases. HB Hall of Residence provides single-bedded rooms. All the others provide two seats. Girls can have up to five seated rooms due to the availability of rooms. There are hostels being built, which should solve this problem. The rooms are small but livable, the mess is bad most of the time, and the money that goes towards the mess probably goes to someone's pockets, it seems.
Faculty: All the faculty members are well qualified and have PhDs from top universities. NITRKL is known for its research and publications. But when it comes to teacher-student relationships, at least in my branch of CS, most of them are strict and have strict rules for paper evaluation. One of the biggest flaws in the college is that it follows absolute grading; it is difficult to get marks above 80 out of 100, hence you can estimate the CG of students. There are a lot of unnecessary courses, such as environment studies (3 credits), biology (2), English (2), engineering drawing lab (2), and English lab (1). There are a lot of unnecessary electives such as sanskrit, film studies, psychology, and gender ratio. All this appears to me to be an outdated curriculum.
Other: Our campus is not only known for academics but also for other extracurricular activities. We have sports fests like Vridhhi. The two main annual fests are Innovision and, therefore, they are the biggest annual fests of our college. We have lots of other student clubs as well. A club called Monday Morning covers all the news about the college.
