NLU Assam UG, PG Courses 2025

For admission to BA LLB (Hons) course at NLUJAA candidates have to register through CLAT portal. Registered candidates for CLAT 2025 counselling will be called by NLUJAA through five provisional merit lists, each released by the Consortium of CLAT. Candidates, who have been allocated a seat in the provisional lists and applied for revision, should check the status of their seat in the CLAT provisonal lists. Those, who have been allotted a seat in the NLU Assam Provisional Allotment Lists, must complete the process of exercising any one of the actions mentioned below:

1. Accept the allotted seat
2. Apply for Revise
3. Exit from the CLAT admission process

If alloted seat is accepted by the candidate. After, that the candidates need to report to NLU Assam for admission. The admission confirmation requires, documents submission and fees submission by the candidates through the official portal of NLU Assam.

As per NLU Assam NIRF report 2024, the median package offered during UG 5-year placements 2023 stood at INR 6.8 LPA. Further, a total of 16 students were placed and 20 students opted for higher studies out of total 70 students during UG 5-year placements 2023. NLU Assam offers a total of 60 seats for admission to BA LLB (Hons). The admission are based on CLAT score. NLu Assam offers ‘Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme’ with the view to supporting students from economically backward classes in their pursuit of education. This scholarship helps students who are pursuing BA, LLB (HONS) five year integrated course, i.e., students of the second; third; fourth and fifth years. The scholarship will be provided to students whose family income is less than INR 8 lakh.

Yes, NLU Assam accepts CLAT score. Candidates who are looking for degree course admission at National Law University & Judicial Academy, Assam must have a valid CLAT score. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) began the CLAT 2025 Registration on July 15, 2025. Candidates can fill the CLAT Application Form 2025 until October 15, 2024. All interested candidates can fill out the CLAT Application Form 2025 by visiting the official website; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in. At NLU Assam, there are 30 available seats for LLM. At the postgraduate level, NLU Assam provides a one-year LLM programme. Students may apply if they have a valid CLAT exam score and satisfy the minimal eligibility requirements. An undergraduate degree with a 50% cumulative GPA is the primary qualifying requirement, and the CLAT entrance exam is accepted. The tuition fee structure is 55 K in total. Seven specialisations in LLM courses are available at NLU Assam. Commercial law, corporate law, constitutional law, environmental law, intellectual property law, human rights and international humanitarian law, and international trade law are among the LLM specialisations.

A passing CLAT score is a requirement for admission to the NLUJAA LLM programme. In order to receive their final seat assignment, students must also go through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) counselling process run by CNLU.

Constitutional law, international trade law, administrative law, human rights & international humanitarian law, security & investment law, etc. are among the specialisations offered by LLM colleges in India. 

For admission to one-year LLM or five-year LLB at NLU Assam, the CLAT test will be conducted on Dec 3, 2023. Aspirants of NLU Assam are required to appear for the exam in offline pen-paper mode at the allotted test centres. Candidates can complete the CLAT registration 2024 until Nov 3, 2023 in online mode. The exam will take place in more than 125 cities listed as CLAT 2024 test centres in 22 states and UTs. • The CLAT question paper for undergraduate courses has total 120 passage-based objective-type questions from five subjects - English Language,  Logical Reasoning,  Legal Reasoning, CLAT Affairs including General Knowledge and Quantitative Techniques. 

• The CLAT LLM question paper has both objective- and subjective-type questions. However, last year, the CLAT Consortium removed the descriptive section from the LLM paper. Check complete CLAT 2024 exam pattern for LLM.

The University provides a five-year integrated course called B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Five-Year Integrated Course, in which the first two years of study combine law courses with Social Science disciplines like Economics, History, Political Science, and Sociology as well as an English language course. For the first three years of school, every topic is required. But in the fourth and fifth years, students can choose from five different streams of optional subjects: Corporate and Intellectual Property Law; Administrative and Constitutional Law; Consumer Protection and Environmental Law; Criminal Law and Criminology; and International Law and Human Rights. The Semester System is used by the NLUJA. There are two semesters in each academic year, making the complete Five-Year Course divided into ten semesters.

Step 1: For NLU Assam admissions to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programme registrations are done through CLAT. Candidates must visit the official website of CNLU to apply for CLAT.  

Step 2: The registered candidates are required to appear for CLAT entrance exam for admission to BA LLB and LLM programmes. After that, candidates willing to get admission in BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes, have to go through the CLAT counselling process for acceptance of seats. To confirm the allotment, candidates have to accept the seat allotment, after that the allotment will get frozen.

Step 3: Candidates who will accept the allotted seat need to upload all the required documents on the official portal. After that candidates, will be required to pay the admission fee to confirm their seats within a stipulated deadline.
