For admission to BA LLB (Hons) course at NLUJAA candidates have to register through CLAT portal. Registered candidates for CLAT 2025 counselling will be called by NLUJAA through five provisional merit lists, each released by the Consortium of CLAT. Candidates, who have been allocated a seat in the provisional lists and applied for revision, should check the status of their seat in the CLAT provisonal lists. Those, who have been allotted a seat in the NLU Assam Provisional Allotment Lists, must complete the process of exercising any one of the actions mentioned below:

1. Accept the allotted seat
2. Apply for Revise
3. Exit from the CLAT admission process

If alloted seat is accepted by the candidate. After, that the candidates need to report to NLU Assam for admission. The admission confirmation requires, documents submission and fees submission by the candidates through the official portal of NLU Assam.

NLU Assam BA LLB course is offered through CLAT scores followed by the CLAT Counselling.

Candidates aspiring for NLU Assam admission to BA LLB and LLM courses must have a valid score in CLAT in order to be eligible for the further CLAT Counselling for the final admission. Also, as per the opening and closing ranks for NLU Assam General category candidates with a rank of 862 are eligible for admission. CLAT 2027 dates for admission to NLU Assam have not been released yet. Students seeking admission to UG and PG courses offered at National Law Universities (NLUs) can apply for CLAT 2027 on or after August 1, 2026 since registration window will open on then. Only students who fill out the application form as well as, pay the fee are issued admit cards to appear for CLAT exam 2024. Students can log in using their registered mobile number and password to update their preferences in CLAT 2024 application form. 

Conducted in pen-and-paper mode, candidates have to attempt questions from English, Current Affairs and GK, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Mathematics for UG course, and from Constitutional Law, and other law subjects like Jurisprudence, Torts, IPC, CrPC, CPC, Family Law, and IPR. For admission 2027 at NLU Assam, the registration is yet to open.

Candidates who are willing to get into NLU Assam for the one-year LLM or five-year LLB course must specific the desired course in the application form.

As per NLU Assam NIRF report 2024, the median package offered during UG 5-year placements 2023 stood at INR 6.8 LPA. Further, a total of 16 students were placed and 20 students opted for higher studies out of total 70 students during UG 5-year placements 2023. Earlier, the institute has released the NIRF report 2023 on its official website. According to the NIRF report 2023,  1 BA LLB (Hons) student was placed during NLU Assam placements 2021. National Law University Assam fee for BA LLB programme is INR 4 lakh. The fee structure is cumulative of multiple components, such as tuition fee, hostel fee, medical insurance, mess and other security deposits, etc. Out of all these fee components, there are a few components that are charged one-time by NLU Assam, while some have to be paid semester-wise, such as tuition fees.

After filling out the application form for National Law University & Judicial Academy, Assam admissions, candidates must appear for the CLAT exam followed by the exam's counselling process. The university evaluates the forms of candidates and grants admission to candidates based on the CLAT marks. However, the time frame of admission confirmation has not be specified by the university. 

Taking admission in the BA LLB (Hons) course at NLU Assam is considered a great option. The university is well-known and reputed for the Law programmes offered. Candidates must appear for the CLAT exam for admission in the university. 

Following Round 5 for admission to the LLM programme, CLAT 2023 was completed. The NLUJAA cutoff 2023 indicates that 2621 is the final round closing rank for LLM. The Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) releases CLAT Allotment lists for admission to 22 National Law Universities in India, including NLUJAA, each year. The fifth round of CLAT Counselling has been released, and the programme has completed. According to the NLUJAA CLAT trends research conducted over the previous three years, B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) closed at 2569 in 2023, 1765 in 2022, and 1530 in 2021. NLUJAA closing ranks were rising for both BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes following Round 1, according to an analysis of the round-by-round comparison.

At NLU Assam, there are 30 available seats for LLM. At the postgraduate level, NLU Assam provides a one-year LLM programme. Students may apply if they have a valid CLAT exam score and satisfy the minimal eligibility requirements. An undergraduate degree with a 50% cumulative GPA is the primary qualifying requirement, and the CLAT entrance exam is accepted. The tuition fee structure is 55 K in total. Seven specialisations in LLM courses are available at NLU Assam. Commercial law, corporate law, constitutional law, environmental law, intellectual property law, human rights and international humanitarian law, and international trade law are among the LLM specialisations.

NLu Assam offers ‘Merit Cum Means Scholarship Scheme’ with the view to supporting students from economically backward classes in their pursuit of education. This scholarship helps students who are pursuing BA, LLB (HONS) five year integrated course, i.e., students of the second; third; fourth and fifth years. The scholarship will be provided to students whose family income is less than INR 8 lakh.
