On Highlights
Q:   Can I get admission into Osmania University BTech without the TG EAPCET?
A:

No, you cannot get regular admission into the main campus colleges of Osmania University for a BTech/BE degree without qualifying for the TG EAPCET. Affiliated private engineering colleges under Osmania University may have management or NRI quota seats, but the premier constituent units like the University College of Engineering (UCEOU) admit students exclusively via the TG EAPCET. OU permits lateral entry into its BTech/BE courses via the TG ECET.

Q:   Does Osmania University offer evening shifts for BTech/BE?
A:

Yes, OU offers evening programmes for BTech/BE. These programmes are an AICTE-backed decision designed to help working professionals upskill. The classes are scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and through the whole day on weekends. Working professionals with diplomas in the relevant Engineering fields are eligible. They will be allowed lateral entry into BTech/BE programs in the second year.

Q:   Can we do an open BTech in Osmania University?
A:

No, candidates cannot do a regular open or distance learning BTech degree at Osmania University. Technical engineering courses require regular physical laboratory practice and mandatory practical classes. So regulatory bodies like UGC and AICTE don't allow distance learning for BTech/BE courses.

Q:   How are the placements at Osmania University?
A:

Osmania University has a decent record of placements for courses like BTech, MTech, MCA, etc. The highest and average package secured by Engineering students during Osmania University placement 2025 was INR 45 LPA and INR 10 LPA. More than 200 companies participated during the placement session and presented over 370 jobs to College of Engineering batch 2025.

Good academics and location advantage, with solid placement support.
Placements: Around 80% of students were placed in different companies. The packages were 4.5-32 LPA. Companies TCS, Wipro, Accenture, and Amazon offered roles and responsibilities. It was based on their skills. Students also secured internships during their course in different companies.
Infrastructure: There was good campus infrastructure. It included labs, a ground, buses, and a centralized library. It also had good classrooms with projectors and wide-range Wi-Fi. At that time, the campus did not have any hostel facility. But students stayed in nearby PGs or hostels.
Faculty: Affiliated with OU, the core curriculum was traditional. But regular workshops, seminars, and technical labs helped bridge the industry-readiness gap. It developed good knowledge among the students. The exams ranged from moderate to challenging. Pass percentage was between 75–85%.

From my experience, college is good and has a good environment, with necessary facilities available.
Placements: From last year's analysis of our department, a total of 90 out of 180 students were placed. The highest package was 7.5 LPA and above. As I am in my 3rd year, many students from my section are undergoing internship programs. Those who haven't got any are attending co-curricular classes and programs for better enhancement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is better than average, and labs are good. The hostel facilities are also good, and everything is well maintained. The food in the mess is good and value for money. Hostels are also not too far from the institute.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified. Many of them are Ph.D. holders. They are knowledgeable enough to teach the subjects in depth. The pass percentage is average. It is not too hard to qualify because we have internal marks too. Around 30–32 marks are enough to pass the exam if the internal marks are good.
Other: I work as an event manager in the college and manage events like freshers, annual days, and many others. We have many extracurricular and co-curricular activities for both knowledge and enjoyment.

Bad hostels but good campus life, good placements for hard work.
Placements: Almost 60 percent of students from EEE got placed in 2026. The highest package is 14 LPA, the median is 6 LPA, and the lowest is 4 LPA. The top recruiter is Nvidia, but most students got placed in CtrlS. 15 percent of students got internships in CtrlS. The top role offered is VLSI, but IT roles are more.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is provided in the hostels, but the rooms are the worst. Girls' hostel has the least hygiene and the worst maintenance. Food is okay, snacks are not provided, only available at the price for afternoon and night. Labs and the library are decent. We can get books if we search, but fewer books are available in the engineering one.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and seniors, not like the ones in private colleges. They explain concepts better. The curriculum is relevant but not industry-ready because they don't teach practical projects from the beginning. Semesters are difficult. 50 percent is the pass percentage for my semester 1 results, the results are given after many months. I still haven't received my semester 2 results.
Other: I chose EEE because it has more opportunities in government jobs than other courses. I wish they give practical knowledge, like building any root or doing it instead of solving for voltage value. Very few fests happen because we don't pay much in fees to the college, so we can't expect much from their side, but 2 fiesta that do happen are satisfying only. Campus life is great because we do have so much freedom to roam around and go out if we have any work.

Good campus, supportive faculty members, and great results and improvements.
Placements: About 70-80 percent of the students got placed. The highest package is about 12 LPA-14 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Wipro, Amazon, Tech Mahindra, etc. About 65-70 percent of the students got internships from my course in Tech Mahindra and Wipro.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classes, and all facilities are great and worth seeking knowledge and skills. They help in developing and improving technical and practical skills as well as seeking knowledge. Good college and does encourage games, sports, and extracurricular activities.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality and helping nature help in understanding the concepts and topics very well. The course curriculum is very relevant and makes the students industry-ready. The exams are very fair and easy if prepared well.
Other: This course helps in gaining practical knowledge of computers, and it's the science behind the algorithms and the working process of the course, and its practical scope.

Best for the future of students of this college.
Placements: The top recruiting companies are TCS, Wipro, and Accenture. 85 percent of students got placed from our course. The highest package is 9 LPA, the lowest is 2.5 LPA, and the average is 6 LPA. The top roles are project manager and Web developed. 70 percent of students got internships in top companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is the best. The campus environment is good. The classrooms are neat and big with comfortable benches. We have good computer labs with Wi-Fi connectivity. We have a good library. The college provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls, which are quite good and hygienic with homely food.
Faculty: We have good teachers. Many faculty members are well-trained. They have a lot of experience most of them are Ph.D. holders. They always clarify our doubts. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students industry-ready. The semester exams are not easy and the pass percentage is 65 percent.

Good infrastructure, supportive faculty, better placement.
Placements: Our college has good placement opportunities with many recruiters visiting the campus. Around 30% of IT students get placed. Packages range from 3–3.6 LPA to 25 LPA, with an average package of 4.66 LPA. Top recruiters include Accenture, TCS, UST, and Infosys. The major role offered is Software Engineer.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, with Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, smart classrooms, and a digital library. Separate hostels, a hygienic canteen, basic medical facilities, and indoor/outdoor sports facilities are available. Overall, facilities are good for academics and campus life.
Faculty: Faculty members are qualified, supportive, and knowledgeable, with good teaching quality. The curriculum is relevant and covers industry-oriented concepts. But extra skill development is helpful. Semester exams are moderately difficult, and the pass percentage is generally good.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in Information Technology. I heard that this college opens doors to multiple opportunities in the tech world. The college provides good real-time experience through labs and projects. Everything is better in our course. There is nothing to improve, but providing more real-world experience would be helpful. College organizes technical and cultural fests, workshops, and seminars regularly. The campus is well-connected by public transport. It has a friendly crowd. It offer scholarships for eligible students, and encourages sports, clubs, and extracurricular activities.
