It is an excellent college in Purulia.
Placements: I got an internship. We have no experience of placements until now as graduates, but the university is very helpful and cooperative in getting an internship. As we were the 1st passing out batch of graduation under this course, the opportunity of job placement is not there in the field of psychology. The university will independent effort organised provision of internship in purulia mental facilities. The internship was optional, so about 35% of students applied for it.
Infrastructure: It provides smart classes with a lot of cultural greenery. It provides a lot of opportunities in sports, central library, gym, medical facility, good labs, canteen and also free Wi-Fi. There is a Jio Wi-Fi for students, and the speed is not overwhelming. The quality of food served in the canteen is moderate. You cannot expect something fancy to get, but definitely, there is something to not get hungry for. Local shops are available around the campus. University has its own medical assistance. It has ambulance facilities. Various sports facilities, including some local like kho-kho, kabaddi, volleyball, etc., are available. Only a girl's hostel is available here.
Faculty: There are determined teachers with wonderful practical hands-on experience. Teachers are cooperative and motivated. They push students to higher goals and constantly coaching for excellence. The course curriculum is very meticulously designed, and the exam system is also organised. The difficulty of examination increases with the semester, but generally, final year graduation students have relaxed to prepare for their final destination paper. The highest percentage of marks obtained in the 1st passing batch of 2021 is 92.5% and 93.7% in Hons. The university prepares the students through practice in field tests, analysis, group and project assessment, and internal examinations on a regular basis.
Other: I have taken this course because I am planning to pursue UPSC when I enroll for the integrated course in psychology. The course is flexible enough that you can pass out after graduation with total credit and chose not to pursue M.Sc in the same institution. But as semesters passed, the glamour of the subject and the motivation of my teacher encouraged me into the classics of the subject. Now I am planning to pursue a master's in the subject and work as a clinical psychologist. Events and fests are not organised in the university. There is a huge convocation, wonderful lectures, and a beautiful crowd ambiance. It has a peaceful education-focused campus. There are scholarships of several criteria. It is well-connected through local transportation. The university has its own bus facility.
