Kalyani University admission to most of the courses are offered via scores of various state/ national-level entrance exams. However, the university does not conduct any entrance exams on its own, but it accepts a few state/ national-level entrances conducted by West Bengal state. These include WBJEE, WB JECA, WB JEMAT, CAT, MAT, GATE, etc., for admission to BTech, MCA, MBA and M.Tech programmes. For courses such as BCom, BA, BSc, MA, etc., direct admissions are offered to candidates based on their scores obtained in the previous qualifying exam. The Kalyani University WBJEE Cutoff 2025 was published for admission to the BE/BTech courses. The cutoff was released for various categories in all rounds for the All India quota candidates. The cutoff was out in the form of opening and closing ranks. 

For the General AI category, the overall cutoff ranged from 2903 in the first round to 9567 in the last round. Among all the BTech specialisations, the most competitive for admission was B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, with the cutoff ranging between 2903 and 5006, for the first and last round, respectively.

Kalyani University admissions are both merit and entrance-based for respective UG and PG courses. For a few UG courses such as B.Ed, BSc, MA, etc., admissions are offered based on candidates' merit scores obtained in their previous qualifying exam. Further, to get admission to courses such as BTech, MTech, MBA, etc., candidates have to qualify for state/ national-level entrance exams. As per the admission process, candidates also have to appear for other selection rounds such as Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds for the respective courses. Kalyani University offers BTech specialisations through WBJEE exam. Generally, candidates need to pass their 10+2 to be eligible for WBJEE and to get into the university. However, other than that, certain percentile is also needed to be acquired by the candidates to surpass the eligibility criteria which is mentioned below:

The detailed academic qualifications required to be eligible for WBJEE 2025 admissions are listed below.

• Candidates should have passed the 10+2th standard (or equivalent) qualifying examination with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/Computer Science/Electronics/Information Technology/Biology/Informatics Practices/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies/Entrepreneurship.
• Should have secured a minimum of 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD candidates) as an aggregate of three subjects in the qualifying exam.
• Must have passed in English in 10+2th standard (or equivalent) exam with at least 30% marks.
• The qualifying examination board should be recognised by the Central or State Government.
