As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, TNAU ranks #84 under the category 'University' and #6 under 'Agriculture and Allied Sectors'.
A few more updates are given below:
- The TNEA 2026 counselling application window is expected to launch in the first week of May 2026 for admission to BE/BTech courses.
- The TANCET 2026 registration for admission to the MBA course is expected to start in Feb 2026.

The 2023 cutoff for undergraduate courses at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is based on merit. The cutoff for general category students is expected to be between 190 and 180 marks, while BC students can expect a cutoff of 185 to 170 marks. MBC/DNC is expected to have a cutoff of 200 to 190 marks, and SC is expected to have a cutoff of 170 marks.

The eligibility criteria for admission to all the undergraduate and postgraduate programme is different at TNAU. As per the basic eligibility criteria for admission to UG programmes, the candidates must have qualified class 12 or equivalent exam with a minimum of fifty percent aggregate. While for admission to PG programmes candidates must have completed graduation with a minimum of fifty percent aggregate in the relevant discipline.
No, the PhD admission at TNAU is closed for the year 2023. The online submission of the application form was from 22 May 2023 to 16 June 2023 up to 11.30 PM. Apart from this, any corrections to be made for the application fee at the official website were from 18 June 2023 to 20 June 2023. Since the PhD admission is closed the dates mentioned here might help students to prepare for the next academic year.
In order to take admission in PhD course at TNAU the student requisite to clear ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF examination. However, the aspirants age should be at least than 20 years. No relaxation is allowable regarding the minimum age limit.

According to the report, 154 UG (4-year) and 72 PG (2-year) students were placed during 2022 placements. If you are from other states, then you have to write an entrance examination conducted by ICAR, and for that entrance you have to apply through ICAR website.
