The University also offers LLM courses at the PG level. Admission to all the courses is based on the entrance test conducted by the University. Candidates will be selected based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam. The eligibility criteria for admission is given in the table below:

Utkal University course admission is both merit and entrance exam-based. Below are the eligibility and selection criteria for some of the programmes offered at Utkal University:

Candidates who qualify for entrance examinations or are shortlisted based on their marks in the qualifying examination will have to report to the admission cell at Utkal University for document verification and fee payment for final seat allotment.
Utkal University grants admission through NEET PG scores followed by NEET PG Counselling. Going as per the last three year cutoffs, the expected Utkal University cutoff for top MD/ MS scores for the General category are mentioned as follows:
- MD in Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy - expected to range between 843 and 1789
- MD in General Medicine - expected to range between 343 and 1199
- MD in Paediatrics - expected to range between 2713 and 10008
- MD in Radiology - expected to range between 266 and 1239
- MS in Obstetrtics and Gynaecology - expected to range between 3843 and 6801
Candidates need to upload mark sheets and certificates of all examinations, conduct certificate from the institution last attended, SC/ST certificate from the concerned authority. PH certificate of physically challenged students. Sports and games certificate of participation are required for quota and special weightage from the concerned authority, certificate shall be produced from the Rajya/Zilla Sainik Board by the applicants interested to apply under Ex- /In-service quota.
Priority shall be given to applicants under the Ex-Serviceman quota, original application fee e-receipt, three passport size photographs (one to be fixed in the application form and two more copies to be attached with the form), migration Certificate, if the candidate is not from Utkal University.

Yes, the University offers a RUSA Doctoral Fellowship for / MPhil PhD students. The University announces the fellowship of INR 50,000 to INR 75,000 per month depending upon the academic qualifications, research competencies and publications for a maximum period of four years. For this fellowship, candidates can apply through the Common Research Entrance Test (CRET). Apart from this, many other merit and need-based scholarships are also offered such as POSCO Asian Scholarship, Poverty-Cum-Merit Scholarship, namely Khiragovinda, Post-Metric Scholarship, Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan Scholarship, etc.
