Yes, as per the university website, Utkal University follows the reservation policy set out by the state government of Odisha and government of India. The institute offers reservation in all its courses. As per the reservation policy of government of India, 15%, 7.5% and 27% of the seats are reserved for candidates belong to the SC, ST and OBC category. Utkal University offers 28,873 seats in its BSc programme through its multiple specialisations and affiliated colleges. Out of all the colleges that offer BSc seats from Utkal University, Govindapur College offers the most amount of BSc seats with 720 seats,  while Kamakhyanagar College offers the least amount of seats with only eight seats for the BSc programme.

Utkal University admission takes place through Odisha SAMS PG Entrance Test. Candidates applying for admission in the MSc programme have to apply and appear for the exam and secure a valid score to be eligible for admission in the programme. The institute does not conduct or recognize results of any other exam for its MSc admissions.

Utkal University offers multiple MSc courses across multiple affiliated colleges. Candidates taking admission into the programme should note that the MSc programme is two years long and follows the semester model. Therefore, the programme has four semesters which candidates have to pass to be eligible for an MSc degree. 

If candidates have applied for the integrated BSc+MSc degree, they will have to complete five years in the programme, which amount 10 semesters of study that candidates will have to do as part of the course.
