Today we are not able to survive without good health and the best medical treatment COVID-19 pandemic makes us realised the need of a robust health care system. A pharmacist is a very important team member of the health care team. B. Pharm is a 4-year program spread over 8 Semesters. The program is tailor-made to train the students to assist the Pharmaceutical industry and healthcare industry at various levels. The course is predominantly based on practice and interaction with a strong focus on medicine, its formulation and evaluation. This will enable students to practice the pharmacy profession in a strong, skilful, and determined manner.

Pharmacy is the science concerned with therapeutic substances – their discovery, origin and nature, their development into medicines and their use in disease prevention and treatment. The pharmacy also denotes the profession which uses its unique knowledge of medicines in the service of society. A career in pharmacy is highly flexible and rewarding. Pharmacy graduates can choose to work mainly with people, by using their unique knowledge and skills inpatient care. Pharmacists supply medicines, provide medicines, health information and advice, and help to manage long-term illness. Pharmacy graduates can also choose to focus mainly on products – pharmacists hold key responsibilities in the Indian pharmaceutical industry and are in constant demand. Skilled graduates are needed in clinical research, in formulation research and development, production, quality assurance, regulatory affairs and marketing not only in pharmaceutical but also in allied industries (Nutraceuticals, cosmetics and Ayurvedic).

Programme Outcomes

The aims and objectives of the B. Pharmacy course is to-

• Impart adequate knowledge and necessary skills to practice the profession of pharmacy.
• Acquire in-depth knowledge of synthesis, analysis, formulation, quality assurance and storage of various pharmaceutical dosage forms including herbal medicines.
• To imbibe the concept of community pharmacy, to participate in health care programmes and act as a bridge between the Physician and Patients for achieving better health of the community.
