B S Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology on October 5 celebrated its 9th Convocation Day at its Chennai campus. Degrees were given to students of diversified fields, including 21 PhD, 379 PG and 996 UG. Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was also invited for this event along with High Commissioner of Ghana to India

B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology on October 5 celebrated its 9th Convocation Day at its Chennai campus. Degrees were given to students of diversified fields, including 21 PhD, 379 PG and 996 UG. Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was also invited for this event along with High Commissioner of Ghana to India Michael Aaron Nii Nortey Oquaye Esq.; Chancellor, B.S Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology BSA Arif Buhary Rahman; Pro Chancellor Abdul Qadir A Rahman Buhari; and Vice Chancellor, B S Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Prof. Ir. Dr. Sahol Hamid Bin Abu Bakar.

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi congratulated and praised the graduates on accepting the degrees and said, "In India, we have a tremendous human asset and talent, in excess of 500 million in number, undern the age of 25, which is the highest on the planet. The Indian youth has always been able to secure a remarkable position in the logical and mechanical world. Science and Technology have consistently been a vital piece of Indian culture. India has given numerous extraordinary researchers to the entire world.

India has a tremendous history of science and innovation. In the limited capacity post freedom, India has created a large number of effective researchers. These splendid researchers have altogether added to the progressions in material science, nuclear science, space, arithmetic and others. There might be one among you who is going to revise the Indian history as far as new innovations and disclosures. Let the great Indian scientists be your motivation, inspiration and a guiding force in your life ahead.”

Crescent has been well known for facilitating better teaching-learning opportunities to students. The management is more inclined towards giving practical exposure to the students, hence creating equal opportunities to be the market leader. Year 2018-19 had witnessed outstanding performance of 273 meritorious students for which they will be given cash prizes worth Rs 8.6 lakh. Not only students but faculty members were also rewarded for their practices. Around 70 faculty members were honoured with certificates and cash prize for their remarkable contribution to Teaching-Learning, Research and Extension activities in institution.
