I Knew My Adventure Here Would Be Just Exciting The Moment I Walked Through The Massive Gates of Christ University

COVID-19 Made Blended Learning a New Normal at Christ University 

A few years ago, getting into one of the premier Indian Psychology institutes seemed impossible. Flash forward to now, living a Christite life, and the experience of graduating from Christ University, Bengaluru is very fulfilling. After receiving an admission letter from Christ University in April 2020, a desire to learn more about ignited, but only through YouTube videos (due to COVID-19). Subsequently, our group received an email that stated, "The inaugural programme and the institutional/ department level Orientation programmes would be conducted online." I had no idea that the online college drama with Webex meeting link reminders would become the new normal. It felt like I was living the laptop lifestyle because all of the synchronous-asynchronous classes, CIAs-Exams-Viva, Blossoms-Darpan-Daksh, and other fests took place online. We waited patiently till the tenacious class was summoned back to university in 2021. A student's university experience is intended to be captivating, full of excitement for the unknown, and jam-packed with fresh discoveries.

I knew my adventure here would be just that the moment I walked through the massive gates of Christ University. It never ceases to astonish me how much weight the university places on the ideals it instils in its students and faculty. Christ's faculty members have extensive industry experience. I have addressed teachers outside of class hours on several occasions, and they have always been very receptive. Complex theories were conveyed to me using simple real-world examples. In fact, academics welcome difficult questions and constantly encourage constructive debate. Despite the vastness and grandeur of the campus at first, you will soon find yourself in the middle of it all.

A Place with Anything and Everything for Students

The university offers excellent facilities, particularly libraries, which house an impressive collection of academic and non-academic materials. If you want to participate in physical activities, the institution boasts large sports fields, a well-stocked equipment room, and professional coaches. Keeping in mind the student diversity—there are scholars from all over the world, and the institution features a number of canteens that serve a variety of cuisines. As a foodie, I was never bored with meals at college because there was always something new to try. The institution believes in comprehensive development, which is shown in the wide range of festivals and competitions it holds and organises. These opportunities allow everyone to grow as individuals and flourish in ways that might otherwise appear unachievable. Some of the most bashful and timid kids have shone on stage here. For placements and internships, the university attracts some of the greatest companies. Businesses like Goldman Sachs, DE Shaw, Axis Bank, Zomato, and TCS are among those that specifically seek Christ students.

Why I chose the amalgamated course MSc Psychology HRDM with MA (Organisational and Business) Psychology? 

I graduated from Christ University's MSc Psychology HRDM with MA (Organisational and Business) Psychology program, which emphasises practical learning through constant industry interactions and competitive assignments. It is a two-year full-time program that prepares students for applications of psychological knowledge in organisations/industries. This multidisciplinary course is designed for students who want to gain professional knowledge in the human and social aspects of work organisations. Because all organisations are fundamentally human, handling the human component is seen as the most important aspect of organisational success. It assisted me in becoming well-versed in numerous practical areas of organisational psychology and the scope of human resources, teaching a diverse range of skills and competencies - critical thinking, business acumen, and strategic thinking - and training me in various personnel duties.

My memories from Christ University

The best moments at Christ University will always be enjoying the morning marathon to college, from not returning to the hostel to watching evening basketball matches, running to the floors of the central building to not finding empty lifts, going to Nandini for that one sip of coffee to running to the Kiosk for honey buns, that one special Ethnic day at Block 1 Audi to many departmental fests near the two islands and so much more. We were fortunate to have these campus experiences for a short time!

The first few days as a newcomer may appear difficult. The rules, regulations, and dress code may appear superfluous and oppressive at first, but as the days, months, and years pass, it becomes a way of life. Christ University not only provides the highest education, but it also provides you with a lifetime of memories, friends, and mentors.
