Q1. How did you choose your course of study in school (class XI-XII)? What made you choose your current college/course (undergrad/post-grad)?

Choosing a course of study is a significant decision that shapes our academic and professional journey. When it came to selecting my course during my school years in XI-XII, I carefully considered my interests, aptitudes, and long-term aspirations. I was drawn to the field of engineering, particularly Mechanical Engineering, due to its practical application of scientific principles and the opportunity to contribute to technological advancements. For my undergraduate studies, I chose my college based on its strong reputation for engineering education, comprehensive curriculum, and state-of-the-art facilities. The expertise of the faculty members, the college's industry connections, and its track record of successful placements were important factors in my decision. My college's commitment to research and innovation, as well as its focus on holistic development through extracurricular activities, clubs, and personal growth opportunities, also appealed to me. Overall, my college provided the ideal combination of academic excellence, industry connections, and aligned values, making it the perfect choice for my undergraduate education in Mechanical Engineering. I got admitted to New Horizon College through the KCET exam, which is a common entrance test for admission to various colleges in Karnataka. In addition to KCET, I also appeared for other college entrance exams to explore more options and increase my chances of getting into a reputed institution. However, after careful consideration and evaluation, I decided that New Horizon College was the best fit for my academic and career goals. I did not attend any extra coaching classes, to prepare for these entrance tests. I dedicated a significant amount of time to self-study and practice. I referred to standard textbooks, solved previous years' question papers, and took online mock tests to assess my progress. While I did not specifically join any coaching classes, I sought guidance from my school teachers and occasionally attended crash courses for additional support. The decision-making process did come with its challenges. One of the key challenges was selecting the right college that aligned with my aspirations, academic goals, and overall suitability. It required extensive research, and evaluation of various factors like faculty, infrastructure, curriculum, and placement records. It was also crucial to consider factors like location, affordability, and the college's overall environment.

Q3. How do you spend your time at college? Which classes do you like to attend? Which extra-curricular activities are you a part of in college? If given a chance, what else would you want to do? How has your college experience changed you as a person? What opportunities do you see in future?

I prioritize attending all my classes and engaging actively in the learning process. While I value all my courses, I particularly enjoy subjects like Thermodynamics and Machine Design, as they align closely with my passion for Mechanical Engineering. I actively participate in various extracurricular activities offered by the college. I am the president member of the Drama Club, where I get to pursue my love for acting and perform in college events and competitions. If given the opportunity, I would love to participate in more technical workshops and seminars to broaden my knowledge and stay updated with the latest advancements in my field. My college experience has been transformative, shaping me as an individual. I have developed essential skills such as time management, teamwork, and effective communication through group projects and extracurricular activities. I have also become more self-reliant and confident in taking initiative and handling responsibilities. Looking ahead, I see numerous opportunities in my future. My college experience has provided me with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills, opening doors to internships and potential job placements in reputed companies. I am also considering pursuing higher studies or research in the field of Mechanical Engineering, as I am passionate about contributing to innovation and technological advancements. Additionally, I believe my college experience has helped me build a strong network of peers, faculty, and industry professionals, which can potentially lead to mentorship opportunities and collaborations in the future. I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and look forward to seizing the opportunities that come my way.
