IIIT Hyderabad Campus Size

  • The IIIT Hyderabad campus size is 66 acres which are located on Gachibowli main road also known as the old Bombay highway and is well connected with transportation like buses and metro rail. 
  • The institute is close to the thriving HiTech City Centre and Lingampally, two important shopping districts, as well as the Hyderabad Central University, the Indian School of Business (ISB), TCS-CMC, Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Development Banking, and Indian Immunologicals. 
  • Additionally, the closest train station is in Lingampally. Since the institute's founding in 1998, the campus has undergone significant growth.
  • The institute offers accommodation for faculty and staff in 100 bedsits located in C & D Block, Anand, and Budh Nivas on campus.

Facilities Available For Studies at IIIT Hyderabad

Labs: 

  • The Institute provides students with access to well-equipped, air-conditioned computer labs according to their cohort. They have the most recent software and hardware. 
  • The normal computer-to-student ratio is 1:2. A 24/7 intranet (1Gbps Backbone) connects all buildings, including the hostels, and every computer is a part of it. 
  • The computational resources are accessible to researchers around-the-clock. Students are in charge of managing their computer systems. Research centers offer specialized, top-notch equipment according to the demands of research and development projects.

Library: 

  • Reference books, textbooks, technical reports, standards, literature books, and CDROMs are all widely available at the library. 
  • Fully integrated multi-user library management software is used to manage the library. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) function and cataloging and circulation services are automated using this software.

Digital Library:

  • Additionally, a digital library is kept up. It is an online repository for practical software, guides, and publications. From this resource, students can download any legal program. Many reference books and textbooks are also available in digital form. 

Additionally, a lot of lectures have been filmed and are accessible to students online. Most courses continue to have an intranet site containing lecture slides and other course material.
Co-curricular Facilities

  • Sports Facilities

The institute provides enough motivation for everyone to excel in any of the many accessible activities and talents. There are facilities for playing table tennis, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and cricket. Additionally, we have agreements with surrounding stadiums for other sporting venues like badminton, hockey, swimming, etc. 

  • Gymnasium

Hostel features include a gym with a physical trainer. In addition to the shared gym that is available to all residents, the girl’s hostel also has a separate little gym for girls.

 

  • Yoga

 

Students, faculty, and staff can practice yoga on campus with the help of a certified yoga guru. Both morning and evening yoga classes are offered.

Hostel & Mess Facilities

All students at IIITH must live on campus because it is a residential school. In Bachelor's or post-degree programs, first- and second-year students are expected to share rooms (double occupancy), whereas third-year students enjoy single occupancy. An optical fiber network connects the dormitories to the other campus buildings. 

Three hostels are for guys and two are for girls at IIITH.

  • For undergraduate students beginning in their second year and first-year postgraduate students, Palash Nivas (Old Boys Hostel) is available. The North and South Messes are connected to the hostel.
  • For postgraduate seniors and research students pursuing a Master of Science or Ph.D., there is the New Boys Hostel (NBH). The hostel is connected to both the vegetarian Kadamba Mess and the Yuktahar Mess.
  • First-year undergraduates and second-year graduate students receive Bakul Nivas.
  • Old Parijaat Nivas for female students in their third and fourth years.
  • For first-, second-, and third-year female students, there is a new girls' hostel called New Parijaat Nivas.   
  • For visitors to the campus, there is also a guest house with four air-conditioned suites.

Mess: On campus, there are 3 vegetarian dining halls (North, South, and Yuktahar) and 1 non-vegetarian dining hall (Kadamb). Any mess is an option for students to eat at. Five times a week, Kadamb offers non-vegetarian food. Modern, roomy kitchens serve wholesome, filling meals. Additionally, some canteens offer meals, drinks, and snacks all day long and well into the evening.

 

Transportation Facilities

There is no information about the transportation facility provided to the students. The IIIT Hyderabad is 16km from Nampally railway station. After the railway station, one can take an auto or APSRTC bus (Nos: 216 & 217) to reach IIIT Hyderabad.

  • If one is traveling from 23 km away from Secunderabad station, IIIT-H. You can take an APSRTC bus (routes 5 and 49M) to Mehdipatnam, and then another bus (routes 216 and 217) from Mehdipatnam to IIIT-H.
  • Few trains stop at Begumpet Railway Station, 16 km from IIIT-H, particularly those coming from Bombay. If you're planning to travel by bus, take bus No. 49M from there to Mehdipatnam, then take bus Nos. 216 and 217 to IIIT-H.
  • Rental Car Services for Local Travel Normally, you can rent a car for 4 hours/40 kilometers (km) or 8 hours (hours), with additional fees for extra miles and houses.

No, IIIT Hyderabad does not officially release question papers. However, they have a couple of sample papers posted on their website. Candidates can find the "previous year papers" available online which are memory-based compiled from students who appeared in the exam.
