JNU Admissions 2022 through CUET begins

JNU Admissions 2022: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has commenced the registration process for admission to its undergraduate programmes through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) today, on September 28, 2022. Candidates interested in JNU admissions 2022 through CUET can apply for undergraduate programmes at the university through the official website of JNU, i.e. jnu.ac.in.

JNU Admissions 2022 Application Process

Candidates must note that the varsity has officially opened applications for admission into the BA programme for the academic session 2022-23. The application is a four-step process that includes filling out one's personal details, qualification details, a photograph and signature and lastly, online payment of the fee.

Once the candidate successfully submits personal details, an application number will be generated and it will be used to complete the remaining steps of the form and will also be required for all future correspondence.

Q:   How to apply for M.Tech in JNU?
A:

JNU M.Tech admission to all the specialisations is now through CUET-PG. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirements can apply for the course.  The step-by-step process to apply for CUET PG to take admission in an MTech course in JNU is as follows:

Step 1: Visit the official website of NTA (cuet.nta.nic.in).

Step 2: Register by filling out all the mandatory details.

Step 3: Login with the generated application number and password and start filling out the application form.

Step 4: Upload the scanned photograph and signature in the given dimensions.

Step 5: Pay the application fee and click on ‘Submit’.

Q:   Can I get direct admission to JNU BA (Hons) courses?
A:

Yes, JNU also offers lateral entry admission to the second year of the BA (Hons) programme. Candidates who are willing to seek admission need to possess the first year of a bachelor's degree from a recognised institute/ university with a minimum of 45% aggregate. Additionally, it is also necessary that the relevant documents are presented such as the bachelor’s degree first-year mark sheet along with other educational certificates.

Q:   What is the last date for JNU admission?
A:

Jawaharlal Nehru University accepts CUET-UG and CUET-PG entrance test scores for admission to several undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate and PG Diploma courses. The University also accepts a few national-level entrance exam scores for admission to courses such as BTech, MBA, etc. For admission to BA (Hons.) in Foreign Languages, BSc-MSc Integrated programme in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiency courses, JNU accepts CUET-UG scores. 

  • The registration window for CUET UG for Jawaharlal Nehru University admission UG courses usually open by February. Further, the CUET UG is held between May and June.

JNU UG Admissions Application Fee

No application will be accepted without the submission of registration fees. The registration fee for candidates belonging to the general category, economically weaker section and OBC is INR 250 and INR 100 for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Persons with Disabilities. Foreign nationals will have to pay INR 2,392 for registration.

This year, CUET score is mandatory for admission to undergraduate programmes. Canddiates seeking admission to JNU courses must note that admissions to BA (Hons) in Foreign Languages, BSc-MSc Integrated Programme in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiency Programmes of Jawaharlal Nehru University for the Academic Year 2022-23 are being done via CUET (UG) 2022.

Q:   Can I get BTech admission at JNU through CUET?
A:

JNU Delhi does not accept the Central University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) for admission to the BTech courses. To be eligible for JNU BTech admission, candidates must have a valid JEE Main score. The final selection is based on JoSAA counselling process. The JoSAA counselling is usually held in the month of September. This year, there will be six rounds of seat allotment.  

Q:   How can I get admission to JNU in BSc?
A:

For JNU BSc admission, candidates need to apply online for CUET. JNU BSc admission is completely entrance-based and depends upon candidates' performance in the CUET-UG entrance exam. Additionally, before filling out the application, aspirants must check out the eligibility criteria for this UG course. Based on the entrance exam score, the seats are allotted to the selected candidates through counselling. The seat is confirmed after the document verification.

Q:   How can I apply for MA at JNU?
A:

Candidates are offered admission in MA programme based on CUET-PG scores of the candidates. The students are selected based  on their performance in the entrance test. The CUET PG exam is held for postgraduate course admissions to over 50 Central and participating Universities.
