In an exclusive interaction with Shiksha.com, the experts at The LNM Institute of Information Technology talk at length about their BTech programme and its various specialisations. They share the eligibility criteria and the admission process in detail with scholarships and assistantship options available to students. Q: What is the eligibility criteria for admission to BTech programme at LNMIIT, Jaipur? Is the application process online?

A: The general eligibility criteria for admission to BTech programme at LNMIIT, Jaipur is that the applicant must have a minimum aggregate of 60 per cent in Class 10 and Class 12 or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 60 per cent specifically in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12. Along with this, the applicant also must have a valid score of JEE Main exam.

Apart from this, the institute also offers direct admissions to students based on their Class 12 results. Such condition is applicable either for the top two scorers of Central and State board in India or top 10 students in the merit list of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE).

As a part of the admission process, all eligible students need to fill up the online application form on the institute’s official website by paying a nominal fee of Rs 1,600. Final admissions will be offered to the students on merit basis.

The institute also offers different scholarships and assistantships to support economically challenged students with a certain level of academic performance. It includes:

• Merit scholarships: Offered on the basis of ranks in JEE Advanced exam for the first semester but from the second semester onwards the scholarship continues basis the CGPA.
• BPL scholarships: Offered to students in utmost need. For the first semester, there are no criteria but from the second semester onwards to continue receiving the scholarship benefits, the student must maintain a minimum CGPA of 6 or above with no backlogs.
• Assistantship opportunities: Available to students with JEE Advanced AIR up to 12000 or JEE Main percentile of 97 and above. With this student must continue maintaining a minimum CGPA of 8.5 or above with no backlogs from the second semester onwards. Also, most importantly, the parental income of the student must be below Rs 5 lakh per annum.

Q: Does LNMIIT offers accommodation facility to students?

A: The institute does offer hostel facility to students. The cost of the same is Rs 44,600 per semester which includes hostel fee, mess advance and other maintenance charges such as electricity and internet charges.

Q: Can you share some of the recent placements trends at LNMIIT?

A: A students’ performance can definitely be evaluated by various means such classroom performance, exam results, projects, etc. but an institute’s performance can only be evaluated basis the quality of placements opportunity it brings to its students.
