Manav Bharati University to resume offline classes from April 11

Manav Bharti University (MBU) has announced that it will resume offline classes from April 11, nearly two years after it was closed following the fake degree scam. The University's Registrar has issued an order to start a physical classroom for the current batch. The order also stated that there will be no online classes from now onwards and only those who will attend the physical classroom will be permitted to sit in the examinations.

As per the UGC norms, since 75 per cent attendance is mandatory in any course, no more online classes will be conducted. The University had earlier failed to start classroom teaching even when the state government colleges had discontinued online classes almost a month ago. Lack of funds and faculty have acted as a deterrent to starting normal classroom teaching.

The university administration had also requested the HP Private Educational Institutes Regulatory Commission to permit them to continue with online teaching but their request was declined. As the university lacks adequate funds to run hostels, the students have been directed to make their own lodging and boarding arrangements, as reported by the tribuneIndia.

Abound 25 faculty members are catering to over 300 students pursuing professional courses such as B. Pharmacy, law, BBA, BCA and BCom. Nearly 30 faculty members had resigned in December 2020. No new admissions have been made for the past two years.
