Everything to date has been conducted very smoothly in the online mode, says Kulkeerat

I knew that Amity University, Noida. was the best option for me. At Amity the selection process is fully online. Students are required to upload video responses to questions posed to them through the Admission Microsite. Based on the evaluation of these videos, Admission is granted. I however didn’t have to take any entrance examination as I was given Direct Admission based on my Class 12 percentage.

I was introduced to Economics in class 9 for the first time. At that time reading and talking about the economy really fascinated me. Thus, when it was time for choosing my subjects for class 11, Economics was one subject I wanted in any case. The combination of Commerce, Business Studies and Mathematics helped me develop a balanced perspective of the domain. Reading about the economic history of India, statistics, and most importantly, studying the two main components of economics: Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, strengthened my resolve to explore these areas further. My economics teachers in class 12, made the subject so interesting that it was one paper I was never scared of. Other students from my class found it difficult to understand and comprehend but, for me it was something I was passionate about. Coming to Amity University to pursue BA (Hons) Economics was one of the easiest decisions I ever had to make. I had heard about the reputation of Amity University; I was still surprised at the amazing quality of education that is imparted here. I chose Amity University because of a plethora of reasons, namely, great infrastructure, quality education, the diversity of programmes and international exposure, to name a few. My entry into Amity has been a game-changer for me. The curriculum at Amity is in sync with the demands and expectations of the industry which lend themselves to credible placement. However, what has impressed me the most about Amity is all that Amity packages into their ‘Beyond Class Room’ initiatives

The campus and the facilities were much better than even many other private colleges in the country. Amity provides us with the study material beforehand, which makes the interaction during class much more meaningful. The mentoring system that Amity University offers is one of its kind. I don’t think any other institution goes to such lengths just to make sure their students are doing well both academically as well as in their personal life. That is why I feel that my decision to choose Amity University was one of the wisest things I have done in life.

When I was attending lectures on campus, it was really a wonderful experience for me. After classes, I used to go to H-block or D-block for lunch or maybe even Arcadia sometimes just to hang out with my friends. Thereafter attending drama rehearsals was a memorable experience. But then the pandemic struck. We were not allowed to come to a campus anymore, for our own safety. Everything changed to online mode seamlessly. I remember, while Amity started semester classes online within two days of the announcement of Lockdown, it took considerable time for others to start. Many of my friends who chose other institutions are one semester behind me.

Everything to date has been conducted very smoothly in the online mode. Professional Skill Development Activities (PSDAs) have helped me a lot. Presentations and Group discussions have enhanced my public speaking skills and reduced my stage fright. Apart from that, during past one and a half year, I had been an active member in extra-curricular activities. Being a member of ‘Dramity’, which is the drama society of Amity School of Economics, is one of the best things I cherish. The club has really helped me overcome my nervousness and has taught me so much about leadership qualities that one attains only by being a part of the core team.

Other than college clubs, I am also the co-president of ‘Girl Up Amity’ which is an initiative under the United Nations. It made me believe in myself.

Every student learns compulsorily one Foreign Business Language. Besides, we learn about Behavioural Science, Human values, Communication Skills and undergo Military Training. Amity has once again proved that it is ahead of so many institutions in inculcating such attributes which are going to help us navigate the challenges and problems that lie ahead.

Once college reopens, I would want to definitely participate in SANGATHAN. I would love to participate in Squash and Javelin.

In the end, I would just like to say that taking admission in Amity University is one of the best things that happened to me, other than being qualified for nationals for Javelin. Apart from that Amity University has really groomed and shaped me in evolving into a better person. I attribute my newfound confidence to Amity alone

From a student’s point of view, if your financial background is not strong, I would honestly suggest going with LPU for B.Tech CSE. The main reason is that LPU offers good scholarship opportunities based on your 12th marks or entrance tests, which can significantly reduce the fee burden.
