CUET Dress Code 2026 for Male and Female Candidates; Check Exam Centre Instructions
Common University Entrance Test 2026 ( CUET )
CUET 2026 exam will be held tentatively in May-June 2026. Applicants who will appear for the exam must follow the CUET 2026 dress code to conduct the frisking process smoothly. NTA lays the guidelines to appear for the exam. Check the CUET UG 2026 dress code and list of items to be carried and not to be carried at CUET exam centre.
CUET Dress Code
CUET 2026 Dress Code: National Testing Agency will release the CUET 2026 exam guidelines on the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in. Candidates appearing for UG entrance test must follow the CUET dress code. NTA will conduct CUET UG 2026 in May/June in CBT mode. Candidates will have to report at the CUET exam centre following the dress code guidelines. Candidates must ensure to carry CUET hall ticket 2026 at allotted exam centre. CUET Dress Code 2026
NTA will release the dress code to appear for CUET UG exam. Applicants appearing for the exam must follow the prescribed instructions for the smooth conduct of the CUET.
CUET Dress Code Guidelines for Female
CUET female candidates must follow the CUET dress code as mentioned below:
Don'ts:
- Avoid wearing head gear or scarf.
- Don't use using rubber bands or clips in your hair.
- Avoid wearing any jewellery or accessories.
- Refrain from applying henna or tattoos.
Do's:
- Wear light and comfortable clothing suitable for the weather.
- Choose slippers or sandals with low heels for footwear.

CUET Dress Code Guidelines 2026 for Male
CUET UG 2026 notification will release tentatively in first week of March. National Testing Agency will release the CUET detailed official notification at official website- cuet.nta.nic.in. Candidates preparing for the exam can check the following details on CUET notification PDF:

Candidates will be able to check the CUET 2026 allotted exam centre upon release of CUET intimation slip and CUET admit card. Only candidates who will fill the CUET application form along with the successful application fee payment will be able to download the intimation slip for CUET exam. The name of exam centre will be mentioned on the intimation alip in advance to help candidates make preparations accordingly. The CUET 2026 admit card is expected to release three to four days prior to the day of examination in online mode. Candidates will be able to check the following details on the release of CUET 2026 admit card:
- Name of the candidate
- Registration number
- Category
- Location
- Date of exam
- Time of exam
- Exam centre name & address
- Photograph
- Signature
- Instructions related to the exam
Candidates must note that the CUET exam centre once allotted, no request for change in exam centre will be entertained under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to carefully enter the exam centre preference while filling the CUET 2026 application form.
CUET male candidates must follow the CUET dress code as mentioned below:
Don'ts:
- Avoid wearing hoodies or jackets.
- Refrain from using belts and other accessories.
- Avoid wearing full sleeve clothes.
- Do not wear metallic items.e at the exam
Do's:
- Wear simple and light clothing appropriate for the weather.
- Opt for slippers or sandals with low heels for footwear.

CUET Dress Code: Instructions for Unavoidable Items
- Candidates who wear articles of faith (customary, cultural, or religious) are required to arrive at examination center at least two hours before the final reporting time. Such candidates will be required to undergo frisking without causing any inconvenience to the candidates while upholding the integrity of the examination process. If screening reveals a suspected device concealed within such an item of faith, the candidate will not be allowed to enter the examination hall with that item.
- If any deviation is necessary due to unavoidable circumstances, such as medical reasons, etc., specific approval from the NTA must be obtained before the Admit Cards are issued.

No, CUET UG exam 2026 date has not been announced yet. It is expected that National Testing Agency will announce the CUET exam date 2026 anytime soon. The exam is expected to be scheduled in May-June. Candidates willing to appear for the exam must make sure to register for the exam online. As per the tentative CUET 2026 exam date, the registrations are expected to commence in first week of March 2026.
CUET UG General Test 2026 exam will be held tentatively between May 13 and June 03, 2026. NTA has not released CUET UG 2026 datesheet online. Candidates can know their subject-wise CUET schedule on CUET intimation slip and admit card. Candidates can also check the exam date, time and slot number.
To appear for the CUET UG exam, candidates must ensure to follow the below mentioned dress code:
- Candidates must not wear long sleeve clothes.
- Candidates wearing cultural/customary dress must report at the CUET exam centre one hour before the reporting time.
- Candidates must wear slippers or sandals with low heels. Shoes will not be permitted inside exam centre.
- In case of any circumstances, candidates must take the approval of NTA before the release of CUET admit card.

Candidates will be permitted to carry the following items at CUET 2026 exam centre:
- Printed copy of CUET 2026 admit card (soft copy is not allowed)
- Self-declaration form
- Any of the Government ID/ School ID
- Transparent water bottle
List of Banned Items at CUET 2026 Exam Centre
Except for the CUET dress code, candidates must avoid bringing the following items to the CUET exam centre. Candidates will have to undergo the frisking process with the help of highly sensitive metal detectors. Candidates must not carry the following items under any circumstances:
- Textual items like bits of paper, plastic pouch, pencil/geometry box, pen, calculator, writing pad, scale, eraser, pen drive, log table, electronic pen/scanner, etc.
- Communication devices like Bluetooth, mobile phones, microphones, earphones, health bands, pagers, etc.
- Wallets, goggles, belts, handbags, caps, etc.
- Wristwatch/watch, camera, bracelet, etc.
- Any metallic items or ornaments
- Water bottles or any open or packed food items
Note: Candidates must know that authorities will provide no arrangement for keeping personal items or articles.
CUET Admit Card 2026
National Testing Agency will release CUET advance city intimation slip in first week of May 2026, mentioning the allotted exam city and CUET 2026 exam dates for UG subjects opted for the exam. CUET 2026 admit card will be released 2-3 days before exam day.
