CUET UG Dress Code 2026: Candidates appearing for Common University Entrance Test must compulsorily follow the CUET dress code 2026 to appear for exam. National Testing Agency, the conducting body of CUET UG has released the exam day guidelines detailing the CUET UG 2026 dress code. As per the instructions, candidates can wear simple, light colored and half-sleeved clothing to experience the smooth frisking process. Test takers must also follow the footwear guidelines and avoid any heavy jewellery items.

NTA released the official CUET Dress Code 2026 for candidates appearing for CUET UG. Students must follow the prescribed dress code to have hassle-free entry, smooth frisking, and timely reporting at the examination centre.

CUET Dress Code Guidelines for Female

Female candidates appearing for the CUET UG 2026 exam must follow the guidelines mentioned below:

Don'ts:

  • Do not wear headgear, caps, or scarves unless permitted for religious reasons.
  • Avoid using rubber bands, fancy clips, or metallic hair accessories.
  • Do not wear jewellery such as earrings, chains, bangles, rings, or bracelets.
  • Avoid applying henna (mehendi) or temporary tattoos on hands.

Do's:

  • Wear light, comfortable clothes suitable for the weather.
  • Prefer half-sleeve or simple clothing without heavy embroidery.
  • Choose slippers or sandals with low heels as footwear.

Q:   How can I check my CUET exam centre?
A: 

Candidates can check the CUET 2026 allotted exam centre upon release of CUET intimation slip and CUET admit card. Only candidates who will fill the CUET application form along with the successful application fee payment will be able to download the intimation slip for CUET exam. The name of exam centre will be mentioned on the intimation alip in advance to help candidates make preparations accordingly. The CUET 2026 admit card is expected to release three to four days prior to the day of examination in online mode. Candidates will be able to check the following details on the release of CUET 2026 admit card:

  1. Name of the candidate
  2. Registration number
  3. Category
  4. Location
  5. Date of exam
  6. Time of exam
  7. Exam centre name & address
  8. Photograph
  9. Signature

Candidates must note that the CUET exam centre once allotted, no request for change in exam centre will be entertained under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to carefully enter the exam centre preference while filling the CUET 2026 application form.

Q:   What is CUET UG exam slot and timing?
A: 

CUET 2026 exam was held in two slots. first slot was held between 9 AM to 12 PM and second slot was held between 3 PM to 6 PM. Candidates could check the exact subject-ise timings on their admit card. 

Q:   What is the CUET exam duration for each subject?
A: 

As per CUET exam pattern, the subjects are divided into three sections as:

Section I- Languages 

Section II- Domain Subject

Section III- General Test

Candidates will get 60 minutes for each subject. Candidates will not be given extra time.

Q:   How is CUET exam centre allocated?
A: 

CUET exam centre is allocated on the basis of the preferences entered by the candidate while filling the CUET application form. NTA allotes exam centre as per the preference entered and is subject to availability and logistical consideration.

While filling the CUET application form, candidates can select four cities of their choice. Choice of CUET exam centre cities will be limited to the State of permanent address or State of present address only. In case there are very few candidates from a city, the NTA reserves the right to merge one, two, or more cities.

CUET 2026 exam will be held in May-June 2026 in computer based mode over a month window. The exam will be held across more than 300 exam cities in India. Candidates will be able to know the alloted exam centre on issuance of CUET intimation slip or CUET admit card.

CUET UG 2026 Religious Dress Code Guidelines

As per the official CUET UG examination guidelines, candidates wearing religious, cultural, or customary attire are allowed to appear for CUET exam. However, such candidates must report to the examination centre at least two hours before the last reporting time. The National Testing Agency (NTA) follows strict security protocols to maintain the sanctity and fairness of the CUET UG examination. Therefore, students wearing items such as hijab, turban, kara, kirpan, or any traditional dress should cooperate with the frisking process.

Important Instructions for Candidates Wearing Religious Attire:

  • Reach the exam centre well in advance (minimum 2 hours early).
  • Carry a valid CUET UG admit card and photo ID proof.
  • Follow all security checks as instructed by the examination authorities.
  • Avoid carrying any prohibited items along with religious accessories.

CUET Dress Code: Instructions for Unavoidable Items

  • Candidates who wear articles of faith (customary, cultural, or religious) are required to arrive at examination center at least two hours before the final reporting time. Such candidates will be required to undergo frisking without causing any inconvenience to the candidates while upholding the integrity of the examination process. If screening reveals a suspected device concealed within such an item of faith, the candidate will not be allowed to enter the examination hall with that item.
  • If any deviation is necessary due to unavoidable circumstances, such as medical reasons, etc., specific approval from the NTA must be obtained before the Admit Cards are issued.

Last year, NTA did not release the official CUET examination schedule, however, candidates can check the schedule for applied subjects on their admit cards, when released. Common University Entrance Test/ CUET UG is an entrance exam. It is conducted for admission to UG programs offered by various central, state, private and deemed universities. Candidates willing to take admission to undergraduation programme in streams like Science, Humanities, Commerce, Law and Management must appear for CUET UG exam when conducted.

This entrance examination assesses candidates at various levels: Language, domain knowledge and general aptitude. CUET UG is conducted annually in computer based mode. CUET UG scores are accepted by more than 300 universities across India.

List of Banned Items at CUET 2026 Exam Centre

Except for the CUET dress code, candidates must avoid bringing the following items to the CUET exam centre. Candidates will have to undergo the frisking process with the help of highly sensitive metal detectors. Candidates must not carry the following items under any circumstances:

  • Textual items like bits of paper, plastic pouch, pencil/geometry box, pen, calculator, writing pad, scale, eraser, pen drive, log table, electronic pen/scanner, etc.
  • Communication devices like Bluetooth, mobile phones, microphones, earphones, health bands, pagers, etc.
  • Wallets, goggles, belts, handbags, caps, etc.
  • Wristwatch/watch, camera, bracelet, etc.
  • Any metallic items or ornaments
  • Water bottles or any open or packed food items

Note: Candidates must know that authorities will provide no arrangement for keeping personal items or articles.

Q:   When will CUET DU CSAS portal open?
A: 

DU CSAS portal 2026 will be actiavted at ugadmission.uod.ac.in. University of Delhi launchs CSAS portal 2026 in June. Candidates who will appear for the CUET 2026 exam can register at DU CSAS 2026 portal. Candidates will be required to enter the college and course preference and pay the DU CSAS registration 2026 fee to participate in the admission process. On the basis of the choices entered and CUET 2025 percentile, candidates will be alloted college and course. CUET 2026 result will be declared in first week of July 2026 at cuet.nta.nic.in.

No, CUET scores are not accepted for admisison in BA LLB programme at Symbiosis International, Pune. The final selection for the BA LLB programme based on their performance in entrance exam. The univeristy accepts SLAT for admission in BA LLB.

Yes, Sharda University considers CUET-UG scores for admission in BSc/ BSc (Hons) courses. However, it is not compulsory. Aspirants can also appear for SUAT conducted by the university for admission in BSc courses.

Yes, Jamia Millia Islamia does accepts CUET-UG scores for admission in four Applied Mathematics and four-year BSc (Multi Disciplinary) courses. For all other BSc/ BSc (Hons) specialisations, aspirants need to appear for JMI Entrance Test.

No, CUET marks is not a compulsory requirement for getting admission in MSc programme of LPU. However, the university accepts valid scores of CUET as well as it's own in-house entrance exam called LPUNEST for giving admission in MSc at LPU.

No, CUET is not a compulsory requirement for taking admission in Fergusson College. The college offers merit-based admission into the UG courses. Admission into the PG courses is offered on the basis of valid score in the online PG Entrance Exam conducted by Fergusson College.
