I researched about the programme, institutes, scope, etc. before making a sound decision, says Vrushali

After Class 10, I chose Science stream with both Biology as well Mathematics as mandatory subjects. As my dream was to become a Doctor, I was more focused towards Biology, but unfortunately, I didn’t get that good results in the entrance exam and lost that opportunity. Then I decided to do my graduation in BSc, and during the graduation, I developed an interest in Chemistry, and also thought about doing a master's in Chemistry. But one of my faculty members suggested me to go for MMS. I researched about the programme, institutes, entrance process, selection criteria, scope, curriculum, etc. which turned out to be beneficial. Basis this intensive research, I decided to go for MMS.

For admission in MMS, one has to have good scores in either of the nationally accepted management qualifying exams. To prepare for the top institutes, I decided to drop one year and dedicatedly prepare for the entrance exams. Now I am a student of AIMS - Atharva Institute of Management Studies which is proof of the fruitful result of my efforts.

I did undergo three to four months of coaching classes to prepare for the exam and then I devoted two complete months for self-study. I targeted to solve at least one mock test paper in a day and in the end, I was able to solve 55 mock test papers in 55 days but with the highest result of only being 85 marks. I knew this less score won’t help me achieve my dreams. So I tried harder towards the same. And, eventually, I was able to score a good percentile in MBA-CET.

I got admission during the global pandemic situation due to the Coronavirus so I could never make it to the campus. But, online classes were no less effective than that classroom lectures. The team of faculty members at Atharva Institute are very helpful and interactive. They not just make lectures interesting but makes sure that we grasp the concept forever. During this global pandemic, each one of us has faced challenges, be it institutes in going virtual or students adapting to online classes but eventually, everyone managed to cope up with the challenges.

Among all the subjects, I like Organisational behaviour, Perspective Management the most.

Talking about extracurricular, the institute organises an annual fest and some regular events, all student-managed. I have been a part of the organising committee for a couple of events which has helped in boosting my confidence.

Now, that a year has passed, I would like to tell you there is a lot of positive change in me. In the initial days, I weas more of an introvert and a hesitant student, but now I am more of a confident and self-reliable person. Going forward, I wish to specialise in Finance and look for opportunities accordingly.
