It is a zero-carbon and green campus and the way faculty approached us made me more comfortable, says Sudha

After completing my Schooling, it was a particular phase to select my own destiny which means Career. In current days, a plethora of options is in front of our eyes. My view was on side of Teacher Education. So, I got to know about this college, Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology at Vallam. It is one of the institutions in Tamilnadu,  most disciplined with Beautiful Infrastructure approving by NAAC and UGC with Grade B and it is Deemed University too. These accreditations of the college made my decision easier. However, I came here and the visit to this college only changed my mind because of the infrastructure. It is Zero Carbon Green Campus and the way of approach by faculty was much comfortable with them. That’s good. So, I decided to join BSc-BEd (4 Years) Integrated Course with the triple major system (Mathematics, Physics And Computer Science).

The basic eligibility criteria for joining a teacher education is that students who studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry pass in higher secondary education in board exams. There is no entrance exam and cut-off marks needed. Everyone can join in this course. After completion of this teacher education course, one can write the eligibility test either TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) or CTET (Central govt Teacher Eligibility Test) or both for a government job. I can prepare easily for these examinations. Once, I have scored in these exams with 90 marks or 60% out of 150 marks. It is like a lifelong certificate (license) for teacher jobs in both govt and private schools. I have been preparing for both TET and CTET. Our institution also provides adequate coaching for these competitive exams

I have very much interest in reading books. There is a library facility, especially in Education Department. There is a separate library in the department and there is a centralised library named Arjun Singh Library for all students in our institution. There are lots of books for all subjects and one can improve his/ her extra knowledge in all fields. It is like a feast for a greedy man. So, most of the free hours I spend there. Mostly, I attended all classes especially mathematics classes. After UG, I decided to do a master’s degree in any one of these three majors (Physics, Chemistry and Maths). Thus, I chose and am doing master’s in Mathematics. Because I love Mathematics.

Apart from the curricular activity, I participated in NCC as SGT and I had a ‘C’ certificate. Also, I was a secretary of the Gender Champion Club which is organised/ run by our university under UGC norms from 2018-2020. My academic background is also good.

I had completed my UG with an 8.29 CGPA and I am doing my Masters's degree in Mathematics in the same university. Now  I am in my first year and completed my first semester with 8.2 GPA.

Usually, our institute motivates the students to participate in all the academic and non-academic activities. I had participated in a lot of events like seminars, workshops and cultural events also. It made me to build my self-confidence, communicative skills, my English fluency is increased while I talk to others and has helped me overcome my stage fear. I can write all competitive exams. Here our institution also provides a lot of coaching to us. So I have a great opportunity to do CA, CMA and CS also.  There are ample opportunities after the completion of this course.

I am doing my master's degree I have planned to do PhD in Maths in this university.

Or else, I am also preparing for various competitive exams and have applied for a lot of private repudiated companies and schools. So, I am looking for a job also
