Q: What are the three things that your institute is doing that will enable it to differentiate itself from the competition?
A: Our unique design of curriculum and pedagogy are definitely the factors that differentiate us from other institutes but besides that, we focus on other factors too such as –
- Creating the digital DNA of the MET Institute of Management on an institutional, instructional, and individual level.
- A robust alumni network that contributes extensively to the transition of current students into the workforce as executives, entrepreneurs, and consultants.
- Emphasising sustainability through our humanitarian work.
Q: What are the top three initiatives undertaken by you that are helping your students become more industry-ready?
A: Industry readiness is a crucial factor in today’s time not just for students but for the institutes too. No company in today’s time prefer to spend 4-6 months on training students. Rather prefer students with more practical exposure and industrial knowlwdge. Hence, we have taken some initiatives to help students become industry-ready, such as –
- MET Insights is a digital learning initiative that aims at developing industry reading by sharing interesting and important knowledge from diverse fields with students every day
- Introducing short-term courses for business analytics, cloud computing, content creation, and digital skills
- Personal Alumni Mentoring is the latest initiative where every student would receive guidance from one alumnus throughout his/her academic stint at MET-IOM
Q: What are the key attributes that a student should have in order to qualify for your institution and perform well?
A: Students must have confidence, conscientiousness, and communication skills to qualify. Alongside, focus, consistency, and willingness to learn hands-on are a must.
Q: Which programme/s would you say is/are your best? What is it that helps your institution differentiate itself for this program?
A: All of our programmes are up-to-date and at par with current industry standards but our MMS programme is our flagship programme and is the oldest yet updated and the best programme offered by the MET Institute of Management.
The differentiator is an iconic brand built over the years which is thriving due to pivoting with time. Our MMS Programme, dully recognised by AICTE and affiliated with the University of Mumbai, has been student-centric and career-focused for the last 25 years.
Q: What are you doing to improve/drive better campus placements for your current students and alumni? What kind of jobs routinely come to campus? What would you say are the key recruitment trends for your college (observed over the past five years)?
A: We have our ears to the ground to walk in step with the swiftly changing business and job scenario. Hence students are being prepared for jobs that do not even exist yet. All the management job profiles across distinct specialisations come to our campus from across the globe. There is a huge number of new companies recruiting from our campus, especially global conglomerates from the USA, Canada, and Dubai.
