The SLIET college aims to advance the knowledge of students in their respective domains to meet the needs of industry as well as academia. Every year, the college provides some live projects for their engineering students as well as research scholars. Each department allots some projects to a student or group of students every year. Most of these projects are funded by external agencies like AICTE, MHRD, SERB, FICCI, etc.

- Design of photonic crystal fiber biosensor for biochemical and chemical applications · Satellite imagery-based crop yield prediction using convolution neural networks.
List of live projects in Chemical Engineering:
- Synthesis of value-added organic chemicals by electrolyte oxidation of soda agro residue black liquor.
- Performance analysis and optimization for capturing CO2 using amine solvents.
- Removal of industrial pollutants (Cr (VI) and phenol) using Environmentally Benign green emulsion liquid membrane.
- Pollution prevention through electrochemical degradation and mineralization of pharmaceuticals.
- Simulation of supercritical fluid extraction of species and herbs.

Workshops in Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology
The college has a well-established Central Workshop system to impart practical training and knowledge to students. The Central Workshop consists of various shops that are wellequipped with all the modern necessities that cater to a lot of the project and research work of the students. The available facilities for mechanical engineering students include metal cutting, EDM (electro discharge machining), welding (TIG, MIG, SMAW, SAW and FAW), etc. The workshop is also useful to carry out research activities for PhD scholars in EDM, metal cutting, etc.
Sant Longowal institute of engineering and technology is a popular university in Punjab. It offers various courses including B tech, M tech, BE, ME, MBA, MSc etc. Other than these courses it also offers some Diploma courses and specialisation in various disciplines. It offers its courses to around few more than 1000 students. It's location is sangrur in Punjab. When we talk about the package, around 80% in IT courses got placed and around 70% in core got placed. And the highest package for the year 2022 was about 18.5 Lacs per annum.
Sant Longowal institute of engineering and technology is a well known institute located in Sangrur of Punjab state. It offers various courses including B tech, M tech, BE, ME, MBA, MSc etc. and some specialisation courses in various disciplines. Placements records in this institute is quite well and good. Around 80 to 85% students from IT courses and around 70 to 75 % in the core disciplines got placements last year which is a great number and achivement. The highest package was around 18 to 19 Lacs per annum in the year 2022.

Both the institutes Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University are well to pursue higher studies. However, when we talk about the placements offered and compare them, then for B.Tech-M tech courses the package range is INR 4-19 Lakhs approximately in Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology and around INR 4.5-25 Lakhs in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University which is better than the former. Also the placement rate in SMVDU is greater than in SLIET. Also the growth rate in the number of placements is also better in SMVDU which is 28 % than 13% of SLIET. So we can say that placement report of SMVDU is better than SLIET.

SLIET cutoff 2025 has been released for the first round. The cutoff was released on the basis of IIT JAM scores and CCMN counselling. The cutoff for the General AI category candidates varied between 1557 and 1806. For the OBC AI category candidates, the cutoff ranks varied between 1666 and 2288.
