UCEED Counselling Round 1 began on April 21, 2026. The seat acceptance fee had to be paid by April 29, 2026, at 6 PM.

Candidates from any academic stream are eligible to apply for UCEED exam. However, for admission to IIT Guwahati it is mandatory for candidates to have passed Class 12 from Science stream. The candidate needs to carefully go through the eligibility criteria before they apply. It is because the candidate will not be considered for admission to the B. Des programme even if they get a rank in UCEED 2026 if they don't meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Also, any candidate who is found to be using incorrect information about their eligibility stands to be disqualified if caught.

To register for the UCEED 2026 Counselling, candidates need to fill the B.Des Application for Counselling. There is a common application form for all the IITs. The application portal was active from March 14, 2026 (Saturday) till April 10, 2026 (Friday), 5:30 PM.

Eligibility criteria to participate in UCEED counselling are given below.

• Candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2001.

• Candidate must have qualified in UCEED 2026 exam.

• Candidate must have passed all five subjects in 10+ 2 or an equivalent exam in 2025 or 2026. Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2024 or earlier are NOT eligible.

The remote proctored exam and test centre exam started on May 4, 2026. Admission last date is May 20, 2026.

The counselling process for UCEED 2026 will be conducted by IIT Bombay as a Joint Seat Allocation process.

To participate in UCEED 2026 counselling, the candidate must have qualified in the UCEED 2026 entrance exam and been allocated a merit rank.

This means that if the candidate has failed to qualify Part A exam, he or she will not be allocated a merit rank, and therefore is not eligible to take part in the counselling process.

• The 1st step of UCEED 2026 counseling is online registration. Candidates who have qualified in the entrance exam and have been assigned a merit rank in UCEED were eligible to participate in the counseling process. 
• The 2nd step is the selection of campuses. Eligible candidates must register for counseling and select their preferred colleges in order of priority during registration.
• In the 3rd step, seat allotment is made. The allotment of seats is as per the merit rank of the candidate in UCEED and the choices selected. Post the allotment of seats, the candidate has to pay the seat acceptance fee and confirm their admission.

To be eligible for the BDes course at School of Design, MIT WPU, students must have passed Class 12 in any stream with English as a compulsory subject and at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category candidates from Maharashtra).

Yes, Galgotias University inducts candidates for the majority of its courses based on marks in the qualifying examinations. For admission to the UG programmes across various specialisations at Galgotias University candidates will get selected based on their marks in class 12 as the qualifying examination for UG courses is class 12. The primary eligibility requirement for admission to the BDes course at Jindal School of Design and Architecture is that candidates must complete their Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Additionally, a minimum of 50% marks in any of the following recognised design entrance examinations—Jindal Creative Aptitude Test or submission of NID/ UCEED score. Moreover, for one of the BDes courses of the Jindal School of Design & Architecture—BDes in Interior Environment Westminster Pathway—candidates are also required to achieve a decent score in IELTS too.

 

 

 

 

IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2026 exam on January 18, 2026 from 9 AM- 12 PM. UCEED Test was conducted at the centres. The reporting time was 7 AM.

NIFT entrance examination is Institutional based examination which will only help you to get into NIFT whereas UCEED is a common Entrance Examination which is accepted by many design colleges and universities. So if you plan to get into only NIFT then you do have to give NIFT Entrance Exam but if you plan to apply in many universities then UCEED is a better option as you'll have many university choices and you can get admission on the basis of UCEED score.
