MAH CET B.Design is a technical education that comes under the undergraduate programme of the State Common Entrance Test CellMAH B.Design CET is the design common entrance test at the state level for admission to the B.Des programme in Maharashtra. The Commissioner of the State CET Cell is responsible for conducting MAH-B. Design CET 2026 and selection of candidates for admission to the 4-year full-time Undergraduate Degree courses in Bachelor of Design.

The date of MAH CET B.Design is out now. The exam will be conducted on April 05, 2026.

The B.design entrance exam aims to check creativity, visual perception, drawing skills, and general awareness of the candidates.

The Eligibility for MAH B.Design CET 2026 is:

  • The Candidate should be an Indian National.
  • The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination and obtained at least 45% marks in aggregate (aggregate 40% marks in case of Reserved categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability category belonging to Maharashtra State) and obtained a non-zero score in CET conducted by the Competent Authority; (
  • Children of NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries and Foreign National Candidature Candidates: i) The candidate should have passed 10+2 examination with at least 45 % marks in aggregate.
  • Any other criterion declared by the appropriate authority from time to time.
  • There is no age limit for admission and appearing for MAH-B. Design CET 2025.

Candidature Type: Maharashtra State Candidature - A Candidate can claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature Type, i.e., from Type A to E for MAH CET B.Des 2026.

Type-A (i) Candidates passing SSC and also HSC from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State; (ii) Candidates who are either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra;

Type-B:  A Candidate who does not fall in Type-A above, but who or whose Father or Mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and possesses a Domicile Certificate.

Type-C: A Candidate who does not fall in either Type-A or Type-B but whose Father or Mother is an employee of the Government of India or a Government of India Undertaking and who has been posted and reported to duty in Maharashtra State before the last date for submission of Application Form for CAP.

Type-D: A Candidate who does not fall in any of the above Type-A, Type B and Type-C but whose Father or Mother is an employee or retired employee of the Government of Maharashtra or Government of Maharashtra Undertaking.

 Type-E Candidates passing SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognized institution located in a disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka Border Area and whose Mother tongue is Marathi.

The syllabus of MAH B.Des CET is designed to check the aptitude, analytical ability, creative thinking ability, visualization & hand skills. The MAH B.Des CET syllabus can be broadly categorized as:

1. Part A: The question types will be Sketching.

Visualization and illustration ability: This will include sketching/illustrating situations, contexts, events, and people with attention to detail. With rthe ight proportions, good line quality, composition, perspective, and shading.

2. Part B: The question types will be Sketching.

Design thinking and problem solving: Understanding complex situations, going to the root cause, and identifying problems, generating alternative ideas/solutions, evaluating options and developing final solutions.

3. Part C: The question type will be MCQ.

  1. General Knowledge/Awareness: General knowledge and Current Affairs
  2. Art & Design fundamentals: Elements and principles of design, aesthetic sensitivity, colour theory, Basic art history. Indian culture, other prominent cultures. Important crafts.
  3. Science-technology related knowledge: Basics of physics, geometry, and Mathematics. Knowledge of practical and everyday mechanical and scientific concepts. knowledge of materials.
  4. Analytical and logical reasoning: Ability to look at information, recognize patterns, and analyse given data. Sequences or relationships between shapes and imageries.

  • The MAH CET B.Des Question Paper for PART C Examination will contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four options (answers) for each question.
  • Each question will have four alternatives (answers) out of which only one alternative answer will be correct.
  • The total duration for the PART C Examination is 90 Minutes in which the Candidate has to solve 60 questions.
  • There is no Negative Marking in the MAH CET 2026 B.Des entrance examination.
  • Questions will be available in English only.

The Admit card for MAH CET B.Des 2026 will be released on the official website. MAH will share the schedule, and candidates can download their MAH CET Admit card 2026 as per the schedule.

The MAH CET B.Des Entrance Exam will be conducted on April 05, 2026. The exam timings are expected to be around 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

MAH CET B.Des Counselling 2026

The MAH CET Counselling B.Des 2026 is known as the Centralised Admission Process (or CAP). The counselling is conducted in online mode separately for the B.Des programme.

The MAH B.Des CET 2026 counselling process is explained in brief below:

1. Registration- Eligible candidates need to register for counselling online, enter their choice of colleges and pay the counselling fee.

2. Document Verification- The admission committee will e-verify uploaded documents and the information entered by the candidate at the time of filling the application form. Only such candidates who successfully complete the verification process will be considered for the next step.

3. Publication of Merit List- The merit list will include the names of candidates shortlisted for the counselling and seat allotment process.

4. Submission of Grievances- Any candidate who has any objection to the merit list is allowed to challenge it.     

5. Publication of Final Merit List- The final list will be published after making any corrections to the provisional list, after considering objections by candidates. 

6. Allotment of Seats -Finally, seats will be allocated by considering:
