Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies Design Aptitude Test (NMIMS DAT) is a design entrance exam conducted by SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be-University every year. The entrance exam is conducted in the form of a studio test, personal interview, and portfolio review round to offer admission to the BDes (Humanising Technology) program offered at the School of Design, NMIMS Mumbai.

NMIMS Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2026 is a national-level entrance exam conducted by NMIMS for admission to its B.Des (Bachelor of Design) program. Find the highlights for MNIMS DAT Application below.

How to fill NMIMS DAT Application form 2026?

The application form for NMIMS DAT 2026 is open. Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria may apply for admission. To fill out the form, candidates must follow the steps given below.

1. Fill NMIMS Application Form

Candidates can fill out the NMIMS application form either offline or on the official website of the NMIMS University of Design. To apply offline, the candidate needs to download the application form from the college website or can ask for it by email or can collect it from the campus. Those going for offline mode can fill out the application forms and send them via email or post. 

2. Pay the application fee

The application fee for NMIMS is INR 2,000/-, which can be paid by RTGS/NEFT bank transfer for online mode and by cash/cheque/ Demand Draft for offline mode.

3. Download NMIMS Admit Card

Next, candidates will get their NMIMS DAT 2026 admit card through email.

4. Appear for NMIMS

After receiving the application form, it will be processed for the eligibility of the candidate. Eligible candidates will be informed about the date/time of the tests/interview. Candidates need to appear for their NMIMS Aptitude Test as per the details mentioned on their admit card.

5. Check results

The students shall be shortlisted on the basis of their performance and the list of students qualifying for the next stage will be announced online.

• Caste / Tribe/ Class certificate (for SC / ST/ OBC(NC) candidate)

• Image of scanned photograph in jpg/jpeg format and size 
• Image of scanned signature in jpg/jpeg format and size
• Debit / Credit Card details for making online payment against the Application Fee

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Des offered by the SVKM’s NMIMS DAT 2026 must fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

• Candidates should have passed Class 12 or equivalent in any stream from a recognized board with at least 50% marks in aggregate
• Candidates with International Baccalaureate Diploma are also eligible to apply provided they are IB certificate/ & DP awarded candidates and have cleared their IB exam with a total of 24 credits having passed 3 HL & 3 SL mandatorily
• Age bar: Candidates over 25 years of age are not eligible to apply.
• UCEED Scores will also be accepted.

Candidates should meet the following requirements in addition to the eligibility requirements listed.

• Candidates Diploma awarded from International Baccalaureate (IB) Board will be considered equivalent to 10+2 examination, provided they have confirmed 24 grades/credits compulsory and have passed 3 subjects at Higher Level (HL) and 3 subjects at Standard Level (SL) plus an extended essay and Theory of Knowledge (TOK).
• Candidates Diploma Programme (DP course) awarded from International Baccalaureate (IB) Board will be considered equivalent to 10 +2 examination with 2 subjects at Higher Level (HL) and 2 subjects at Standard Level (SL) OR 3 subjects at Standard Level (SL) and 1 subject at Higher Level (HL)
• a. IBCP equivalence for General Strand (Arts, Commerce, Science, Law): Candidates Career related Programme (CP) course awarded from International
• Baccalaureate (IB) Board will be considered 2 DP subjects with at least 1 subject at Higher Level (HL) and a minimum 3 points in each DP subject.
• Additionally, it is necessary to complete at least 03 Career Related Studies (CSR) courses given by IB-approved partners, such as the World Academy of Career Program

Admission to B.Des (Humanising Technology- HT) will be conducted based on NMIMS-DAT 2026 merit ranks. The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) will comprise the following test components.

1. Studio Test (Offline)
2. Personal Interview (Offline)
3. Submission of Portfolio – hardcopy. (to be presented to the Personal interview panel)

Pattern of NMIMS DAT Studio Test

Studio Test Part- A

• MCQ = 20 questions
• Time = 20 minutes
• Marks = 40 marks

Studio Test:  Part- B

• Design Challenge = 2 questions.
• Time = 40 minutes
• Marks = 60 marks (30 marks each question)

NMIMS DAT registration

First, candidates must register on the official exam website and fill out the online NMIMS DAT application form. NMIMS DAT application fee is INR 2,000.

NMIMD DAT Entrance Exam

Candidates have to appear for the Entrance Exam & personal Interview. The personal interview will be conducted in offline mode. 

Studio Test

The candidate has to next appear in a Studio Test. Call letters for the Studio Test will be uploaded on the candidate dashboard. 

Appear for a Personal Interview and Submit a Portfolio

The candidate has to show their talent via Sketching / Drawing, / Photography in the portfolio.

NMIMS DAT Result

The names of all candidates who will qualify for the design entrance exam will appear in the NMIMS DAT merit list. The merit list will be released by NMIMS on its official website. Complete the admission form with the required documents. Pay the admission fee & complete the process.

NMIMS Refund Rules

If a student chooses to withdraw from the program of study in which he/she is enrolled, the institution concerned shall follow the following five-tier system for the refund of fees remitted by the student.
