Engineering Colleges accepting IMUCET for B.Tech in India

No, they are not the same. There is a valley of difference between the paper pattern of both these exams. JEE Main Syllabus is strictly limited to 3 subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics). Every subject carries identical question weightage while the IMU CET Syllabus structure is distributed across 5 sections (PCM + English + General Aptitude/GK).

TMI offers a four-year UG course of BTech in Marine Engineering. 2. PG Courses - Candidates with a B.Sc. or B.Tech. degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Naval disciplines are eligible to apply for PG programs.

Students seeking admission to the Indian Maritime University (IMU) Kolkata BTech programme should meet all the selection specifications that are predescribed by the university. The following points are to be met by the students to be eligible for the admission to the BTech:

• Students must have passed their class 12 with minimum of 50% aggregate. It is also compulsory for students to achieve 60% average marks in the Physics, Chemistry and Maths collectively.
• Candidates marital status should be unmarried, with maximum age limit of 25 years for male and 27 years for female candidates.
• Students should also get valid rank in the IMU-CET.

However, in terms of affordability, Coimbatore Marine College is a better option since the total tuition fee for Coimbatore Marine College is INR 297,000 and the total tuition fee for B.E. / B.Tech at Academy of Maritime Education and Training is INR 360,000 - INR 1,540,000.
