Communication Aptitude Test 2025: The CAP Test 2025 Application Form is now available on the official website of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for MA Communications and Phd in Communications. Candidates who fulfil the CAP Test eligibility criteria can submit their application forms online. Candidates are advised to review the admission requirements and guidelines before submitting their application to ensure that all necessary documents are included.

The CAP Test Dates 2025 are yet to be announced on the official website. The institute informs the applicants of the exam dates at their contact details as provided on the CAP Test application form. What is CAP Test?

The Communication Aptitude Test (CAP Test) is conducted by Amrita School of Communication (ASCOM), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and is a gateway for admission to its various mass communication courses offered at its Coimbatore campus. The entrance exam is designed to assess students from various backgrounds based on their interest, potential and aptitude for adjusting to a communication course. CAP Test Eligibility Criteria for BA in Communication

To eligible for admission to B.A. in Communication (B.A. (Hons) with Research in Mass Communication with Business Management and Media & B.A. (Hons) with Research in Mass Communication with Digital Design and Animation) candidates must have passed the higher secondary school certificate or 10+2 from a recognised board with a minimum of 50% marks.

CAP Test Eligibility Criteria for MA in Communication

Candidates looking for admission in MA in Mass Communication must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • 1 Year PG Diploma for candidates who have completed their 4 year B.A. (Hons) in any stream with minimum 50% marks.
  • 2 Year PG Diploma for candidates who have completed their 3 year B.A. (Hons) in any stream with minimum 50% marks.

The institute offer 60 seats in MA (Communication) through CAP Test and admits candidates after online interview.

CAP Test Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D in Communication

Candidates planning to pursue to Ph.D in Communication at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham must ensure to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the institute. The academic requirements for CAP Test for admission in Ph.D include:

Masters in Communication/ Mass Communication/ Visual Communication/ Journalism, or any other relevant field. Apart from this, candidates must also have a strong academic record. It includes an competitive score in standardized graduate aptitude tests like GATE, etc.

Candidates who wish to appear for the CAP Test 2025 will have to follow the admission process give below:

Step 1: Register with your Email

Visit the official website of Amrita School of Communication (ASCOM) at amrita.edu/school/communication. Click on the programme you wish to apply for (UG, PG, Diploma, Phd). Click on 'Apply Now' to register as a 'New Candidate' by providing the required details like name, mobile number, and email ID. Enter the Otp received on the provided email ID to complete the registration.

Step 2: Enter Personal Information

Once registered, enter your personal details like Name, Gender, Date of Birth, NRI & Social Status, Nationality, and Contact Details. Save the details, preview the provided information, and click on 'Next'. Refer to the below image.

Step 3: Fill in the Application Form

Candidates willing to appear for the CAP Test will have to make sure that they fill in the CAP Test application form before the deadline. Forms received after the last date of receiving of applications will be rejected by the authorities.

Fill in the application form by entering details like:

  • Address (State, Disctrict, City)
  • Photograph
  • Signature
  • Course Preference

Step 4: Pay the Application Fee

Candidates will have to pay for the application to complete the form-filling process. The application fee of INR 500 needs to be paid in online mode only. 

Step 5: Provide the Academic Details

Candidates will be required to provide their academic details such as percentage of class 10, 12 and graduation (in case of applying for PG). 

Step 6: Upload the Documents

Candidates will also have to upload their documents such as academic certificates, passport-size photographs, etc.

Step 7: Submit the form

Candidates will have to preview the registered details and submit the application form. After that they will get an acknowledgment of completion of registration process by mail.

CAP Test is conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. They make their applications on their admissions portal. Eligible students can apply for it by paying an application fee or INR 500. CAP Test 2025 Admission Process

Aspirants who successfully submit the application form for the CAP Test will have to appear for an online interview. The final selection of the candidates will be made based on their performance in the interview. For admission to mass communication courses, candidates will have to follow the process:

Step 1: Appear for Personal Interview

Candidates will have to appear for an online interview. The details of the date and time of the interview were provided to candidates on their registered email ID. Questions in the interview will be based on the candidate's profile and current affairs.

Step 2: Check CAP Test result

A merit list of candidates to be provisionally admitted to each course will be prepared on the basis of the score obtained in online interview.

Step 3: Pay the Course fee

Successful candidates are given some time to secure their admission by depositing the prescribed fees online alongwith the necessary documents.

According to the last years' trends, the CAP Test entrance written exam included 50 questions of one mark each. The question paper is divided into six sections including Know your English, Logical Reasoning, Current Affairs, General Awareness, People in the News, and Media and Advertising.

No, according to the CAP Test exam pattern and marking scheme laid down by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, there is no negative marking in the CAP Test entrance exam for admission to BA in Communication, MA in Communication & Ph.D in Communication.
