The Review of B. P. Poddar Institute of Management and Technology .
Placements: Our college has good to moderate placements, which vary year by year. In 2023, our seniors received offers up to 11 LPA in IBM, similar to 2022. However, in 2024, placements have declined due to the recession. Despite this, our college students secured different types of paid and unpaid internships in IBM, Wipro, Accenture, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college has a hostel, but it is located outside the college campus. The hostels also have Wi-Fi. Many sports tournaments (both indoor and outdoor) are held in our college. However, the food in our hostel is below average, while the food in the college canteen is good.
Faculty: The teachers in our college are very helpful, approachable, and engaging. They teach in a good manner. Our HODs are very supportive and work to make our careers industry-ready. The semester exams are very difficult, and it requires significant effort to pass them. The semester includes one final practical examination and one theory examination.

It's a good college with cooperative teachers.
Placements: About 80% of students are placed. The salary package offered is 6 LPA to 7 LPA. Cognizant is the top recruiting company. Mostly, IT companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, and Wipro visit the campus.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average. I am a day scholar. The hostel provides food at the proper time, and the warden is also very strict.
Faculty: Teachers are very cooperative. They teach us very well, and we don't have any doubts after classes. They are also very good. The overall teaching quality is good. The course curriculum makes us industry-ready. Teachers guide us well to face the industry. They take us to many factories and thermal plants for training. Exams are very hard. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose this course as I have an interest in it and I have my family business. We should have some more amenities, and the college should conduct more cultural programs. A fest is conducted every 3 years.

College campus is small and less sports facilities are available faculty are nice.
Placements: In 2021- 85% of the students being placed but in case of EE only 40% of the students because of core companies are not visiting the campus almost 99% recruiter are IT companies.
In 2022 mass recruiter are Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini etc. Till December 20 students from EE placed.
Infrastructure: There is no regular sports facilities (only table tennis and carrom is available in the campus)
There is one cricket and football tournament each year in the month of Febraury and October. Course infrastructure are scheduled by Makaut University and it is pretty good. Well organized.
Faculty: Teachers are very kind, friendly and well qualified except 3-4 teachers.
In EE department there are approximately 24 teachers where 5-6 teachers are Ph.D. qualified and rest are M.Tech qualified. If students study according to the syllabus then they acquire relevant skill for industry but placement record not good for EE department.
Other: Campus is very small and there is no playground inside the campus.

I am satisfied with my college.
Placements: About 89% of our previous batch got placed (some of them even got multiple job offers). The lowest package was 3.6 LPA. The highest was 10 LPA. Top companies like Cognizant and Infosys are recruiters. I don't have much knowledge about the number of internships received by our pass-out batch. But Cognizant offered a few internships throughout. The top roles offered were ASE & SE.
Infrastructure: The campus is totally a Wi-Fi zone with a daily data limit of 1GB for a single phone number, to be precise the Wi-Fi strength is quite good. Labs are well-equipped, the library is adequately supplied and except few classrooms, most of them are quite good, but there's no proper common campus at all. The total institute is carried out within a society full of residential buildings. There's no proper hostel within the college, however, the institute with the collaboration of a few local building owners provides accommodation in terms of the hostel (they provide food too). Paid food available in the college canteen is quite good as per their cost. Medical facilities are always available, but the institute lacks activities including sports.
Faculty: Except for a few teachers, most of them are quite friendly and helpful. All of them are adequately qualified thus providing quality education. According to me, my course curriculum is too relevant. Following college properly will surely make you industry-ready. If studied properly and regularly then semesters are not much tough to handle, but ignoring classes and irregular routines may result in a backlog. Although throughout the online exam era the pass percentage has always been (99-100)%.
Other: I got my course by means of counseling and my WBJEE rank, so it was not much of a chosen one. But after joining the college, I started loving my course. The best thing about my course is the field activities. Better campus life would improve the academics of the students somehow. Tech fest takes place, and small internal events like freshers and farewells are carried out in quite a good way but social events are like myths over here.

It has unsatisfactory infrastructure and services. But has good faculty, and placements in 2018-19.
Placements: I am basically from the electrical engineering department where 30% of the students got placed. The highest salary package offered was 10 LPA and the lowest was 4.2 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges from 2.3 LPA - 3.4 LPA. Not such big companies came for recruitment except Byju's, Wipro, and Cognizant. Only 20% of the students got placements this year. Around 25% of the students got internships in companies like Bosch and TCS. Various roles are offered in performing this course such as electrician, controls engineer, electrical technician, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average. Hotels and rooms are of moderate quality. The food served by the college canteen is also moderate and not satisfactory at all. Labs are there with a good Wi-Fi facility and a library is available with a medium acquaintance. As per sports is considered, table tennis and cricket tournaments are held and there's a quite large space for these games as well which took my attention for a while.
Faculty: Teaching faculty members are good and supportive. They encourage and guide students to fulfill their dreams and further achievements in life. Whenever any problem or confusion aroused the faculty is always there by the side for help and resolve issues without any doubt.

Review of the college's campus life, course, and facilities.
Placements: Almost 80% of students got job offers and it is still ongoing. The highest salary package offered is 7 LPA offered by Wiley India this year till now and the average salary package offered is 2.4 LPA almost every year. The top recruiting companies are Infosys and CTS. Hitachi also recruited 2-3 students. Some got placed in Wipro, TCS, and EY. Some students also got offers for internships from EY.
Infrastructure: All the facilities are available in our college except a ground. The labs are good and the library is average. First-year student classes take place in the same building and from the 2nd year, they get seperate building for different branches. Wi-Fi is available but you only get 1GB of net per day with a mobile number.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful. The curriculum is designed to make students industry-ready. GATE and others entrance exams syllabus is also covered. During the pandemic, we are currently studying through online mode using google meet. Even in online classes, the teachers are helpful and very understanding.
Other: The best thing about this course is that computers are going to be present in every field in the next 5 to 10 years and the demand for computer science engineers are going to rise which is very high even nowadays.

I am satisfied because it is a value for money.
Placements: The percentage of placements are average. Almost 80% of students from our senior batch get placed. All the students from the core branch also get selected in IT companies like Infosys, TCS, and CTS. They are also our top recruiting companies. Sometimes other companies like EY and SAP also conduct interviews. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA. The average salary package offered is 3.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: In this college, laboratories are average. Classrooms are also average. Wi-Fi is available on the campus. The library is good, one can find all the books related to the course. There are also books on the different courses. The hostel is not present on the campus. The hostel is situated approximately 800 meters from the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, their methods of teaching are understandable. Most teacher uses the English language but sometimes they use Bengal. The difficulty level of semester exams are average. Almost every student clear the semester exams. Students can pass the exams just by paying attention to classroom studies.
Other: Fests are not held regularly in this college.

Our college has ruined our life.
Placements: I am from electrical engineering. No core company came for placements, and even our college management does not arrange any core company. Approximately 10% of the students from electrical engineering got placed in IT companies, mainly in Cognizant, but not in any core company. The lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is approximately 3 LPA. A student from our whole college got placed in Byju's with a salary package of approximately 9 LPA. Most of the students got placed in Cognizant and Tata Consultancy Services. Internships are not provided here, so students have to look for them on their own. If the college arranges internships, then it was only for a day. They charge some high amount of fees for that visit to the respective company. I think there is no such role offered in our course. I suggest juniors who want to be an engineer to check and connect with some of the students to know the placement and other facilities arranged by that respective college. I never recommend anyone to opt for this college, mainly in electrical engineering and ECE. However, IT and CSE streams have some better and more placements, but only some of them got placed.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is very poor. There is only 3 blocks or building, and after that, there is nothing even to more space. When I was in college, I had seen two cars were stuck between the space of two buildings of our college. Our college has labs, but they are totally old, like from the British age mainly for the machine which is from electrical engineering. Wi-Fi is available here, but you have to pay a huge fee per semester. The fee is not the problem. You have to go to the library and hold your space for browsing the internet. Out of the library, there is no range of Wi-Fi that connects to your phone. The library is in another building, and classrooms are in the other two buildings. If you want to use Wi-Fi, then you have to leave your classroom building and move to the library only for browsing. There is an elevator in each building, but you can't use it. It is only made for teachers and physically challenged students. You have to use the stairs to go to the 4th and 5th floor to attend the class. The hostel is very bad. There is no such special facility provided like sports and games, medical facilities, healthy food and canteen. I rated 1 out of 5 for the cleanliness of the hostel as it is very bad.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful and knowledgeable, and they are qualified from a good university with their best knowledge. They prepare students for industry work. Our course is relevant like others. However, in the industry, you have to work with the latest modern machinery, and in our college, all the machines are very old.
Other: I have chosen electrical engineering because I just wanted to be an electrician and work for an electrical company. Our college has to improve in all the fields.
