Bad placements, small college grounds, no hostel life, lack of ACs, decent faculty, and campus.
Placements: This year (2026) the placement statistics are very low like 30-40 percent. I heard from my seniors that these placements were low-paying like 3 LPA-4 LPA on average. Many big MNCs and companies like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon claim that they haven't come here since 4 years. Only mass hiring companies like TCS come. The thing is NSEC comes under Techno India Group. All the placements of these colleges happen together so we are competing with good colleges like Techno Main Salt Lake for placements. In conclusion I would say placements are bad here.
Infrastructure: There are both positives and negatives to infrastructure. Positives are that we have a large number of classrooms, labs, and we have Wi-Fi, library, gym, and the canteen food is healthy. The negatives are our small college grounds, the gym I mentioned above is very small and basic level, and there are no hostels. Most classrooms don't have ACs. The thing is only the top floor of the office building accommodating the 4 classes O501 - O504 and labs has ACs installed. In the summer it's impossible to do classes most students don't come to attend classes. Although management has promised to install more ACs.
Faculty: The teachers are good here. The only thing bad about them is that 50 percent of teachers teach in Bengal and we have Bihar and Jharkhand students too here. I would say that the MAKAUT curriculum is old and outdated for the industry. The semester exams are unpredictable. This time it came easily for 1st year students but 25 percent of students still got backlogs in one or more than one subjects. Here the problem is not of teachers but of students. They don't attend classes the daily attendance is very poor like 15-20 out of 70 students in my section.
Other: Overall everything is decent and okay but if the placements go up after 2026 then this college can be a great place to come.

The college needs to focus on the betterment of placement opportunities.
Placements: I am pursuing engineering in the CSE branch, and my branch has a placement percentage of about 70-80%. The highest package in my branch is about 62 LPA, and the average is about 7 LPA. Top recruiters are the mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, etc.
Infrastructure: The best among the infrastructure of this college is the labs and library, which are well-equipped with resources. Other than that, the campus is well organised but very small. College has a center of a bit of greenery in the garden and a small fountain. Classrooms are well-equipped with projectors.
Faculty: Faculty members of the college are very cooperative and helpful to the students. They also take care of the language barrier for the students who do not understand Bengali and help them understand the topic. The academic curriculum of the college is designed by MAKAUT.

I am very much convinced after choosing this college.
Placements: Around 80-85 percent of students have been placed in our college in recent years. The highest is around 60 LPA, and the average is around 6-7 LPA. Top companies that visit our campus are TCS, Wipro, Deloitte, Accenture, LTI, Mindtree, HP, and startups.
Infrastructure: The labs and the class are bigger in size. Teachers are well qualified and have a great hands-on experience of teaching in a professional manner. There is no college hostel, you will have to search for a PG or a mess near the college, or a flat that you have to take.
Faculty: Faculty members are always ready to help us with everything. Their experience helps students like us to be ready for the job market and for the semester exams. The course is designed by the MAKAUT, which is relevant to the course you are enrolled in.
Other: The college fest is something you're gonna enjoy. There are many events of sports, cultural, teaching, and many more, so you will definitely enjoy the events organised by the college clubs.

Overall, faculty members are good and friendly. Infrastructure is average.
Placements: More than 60% of people are placed, and the course I am doing is CSE. It has good placements like obviously the best among all streams. It is also a good department if CSE is not available. IT and CSE placements are fine mostly in companies like TCS, Wipro, etc.
Infrastructure: It's small yet facilities are provided as per need. There are rooms with AC for CSE and all such core department, and there are also grounds for sports, badminton court, and table tennis. There are no hostel. People are supposed to get PG nearby or maybe a flat.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. They are understanding and keep guiding us. Faculty do guide and importantly, the core subjects teacher like for DSA or co they are good. Faculty do try to complete the syllabus but it's better to do it yourself. They guide well if asked well.
Other: There are various clubs available for sports, fashion, etc. Teach clubs are also there with good seniors.

Good infrastructure and campus life, average faculty, and decent placements.
Placements: Around 70 to 75% of students in my B.Tech courses are placed by the time we graduate. The highest package offered is around 62 LPA, the lowest was approximately 3 LPA, and Top recruiting companies included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, etc.
Infrastructure: The B.Teach department had well-maintained classrooms with projectors, high-speed Wi-Fi, and fully equipped labs for each specialisation. The library was spacious with a good collection of technical books and journals, and Hostel facilities were decent.
Faculty: Teachers are moderately helpful, and most are qualified, but the teaching quality varies. Some were engaging, while others relied heavily on slides and lacked practical insight. The B.Tech curriculum is somewhat outdated, requiring students to learning.
Other: I chose B.Tech because of my strong interest in technology and problem-solving, and it offers great career opportunities in engineering and IT..

Playground is green. The Guards are supportive.
Placements: Almost 80 to 90% of the students get placed from the CSE branch. The highest package offered in our course is 65 LPA, and the minimum package is 6 LPA. The companies that come are Amazon, Flipkart, Google, TCS, Wipro, and many more. Almost 60 to 70% get internship.
Infrastructure: Library is well maintained, the classrooms are good, there is a high speed Wi-Fi network, the infrastructure of the buildings is amazing, the facilities are all good, we understand their teaching well, the co workers are also sober mind and helpful, and the canteen provides us with good food.
Faculty: Teachers are really knowledgeable, their teaching helps a lot in understanding all the topics, they are all open minded, even maintain the class decorum, and never let us get bored. They also help us to handle real life problems. The semester exams are of a moderate level, with a pass percentage of 32%.
Other: I chose this course because I like coding. College should deal with more real life projects.

Overall, satisfied with all.
Placements: College has a good placement rate. Service based companies came to our college and offered placements. The highest package of 2024 is 62 LPA, and the average package is 6 LPA. If the students have knowledge, they can be easily placed, there is no need to worry about placement.
Infrastructure: College has all the facilities like Wi-Fi, library, labs, and also has a good infrastructure. It does not have a hostel, but it has a canteen, and the food in the canteen is good, according to the price. College also has medical facilities. It has sports facilities, and some sports competitions are conducted at certain times.
Faculty: Faculty are qualified, helpful, and friendly. The teaching quality is awesome. The course curriculum is relevant, along with theory, we also have a lab for better understanding, that makes students ready for the industry. Semester exam is not so difficult, you can easily pass the semester exam.

Well, I graduated from this college in the same department. I suggest that you take admission for CSE through WBJEE, where your rank must be around 8k-9k. You can take admission through JEE Mains, and direct admissions are also conducted here.
