At the undergraduate level, the college offers three to four-year BE courses. The four-year BE is provided in 18 specialisations such as Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and others. At the postgraduate level, BMS College of Engineering offers two-year full-time MTech courses to students in 11 specialisations, two-year MBA, and MCA courses to students.

Candidates who want to take admission in the BE programme through management quota must have passed Class 12 examination with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry/ CS/ Electronics with a minimum 60% aggregate. Candidates who have passed Diploma or equivalent examination with a minimum 45% aggregate (40% marks in case of SC, ST and backward classes candidates from Karnataka) are eligible to apply for BMS College BE admission through lateral entry.

• Candidate who have a BE/ BTech degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum 50% aggregate (45% marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates from Karnataka) are eligible to apply for admission to the M.Tech programme. BMS College eligibility criteria for MBA programme is a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum 50% aggregate (45% marks for SC, ST and Category-I candidates from Karnataka) taken together in all the subjects including language subject.
• Candidate who have passed the Bachelor’s degree examination with Mathematics/ Statistics/ CS/ Computer Application/ Computer Programming/ Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subjects with a minimum 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC, ST and Category-I candidates from Karnataka) can apply for BMS College of Engineering MCA admission.

BMS College of Engineering does not have its own entrance exam, but it considers KCET, COMEDK, GATE and PGCET scores. The level of these examinations is not similar and some students find COMEDK easier than KCET. Exams can be scored well by doing preparation with Class 11 and 12 syllabus.
