B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2025

Overall, it's a decent college, but they should focus more on skill development.
Placements: 40 to 50% of students were getting placements. To my knowledge, the highest package is something around 8 LPA, and the lowest is 1.5 LPA. The average package is 2.5 LPA. Top companies like Mahindra Tech, Royal Enfield, and TATA are coming. About 60 to 70% get internships with companies like Azatus, Royal Enfield, and Mahindra Tech. The top roles offered are as junior engineer trainees.
Infrastructure: The campus is spread over 10 to 15 acres of land, with an eye-catching nature view and attractive buildings. The library and administrative building are must-visit places. The quality of hostel facilities is good, but the food is average. Aside from this, the medical, sports, and games facilities are top-notch.
Faculty: All the teachers are very helpful, and the lab assistants are friendly with us. The teaching quality is good, but I would say it’s mostly theory-based, which is not fully applicable to industrial readiness. Semester exams are pretty difficult, and the pass percentage is 33%.
Other: I chose electrical engineering because I have a fascination with electrical equipment, and the growth of electric vehicles is also taking a leading part in the electrical engineering field. I would say we need more focus on skill development rather than just passing exams. Events, festivals, campus crowd, connectivity, campus surroundings, scholarships, and extracurricular activities are also organized on this campus.

Very satisfied because of faculty. Good placement in 2018.
Placements: The placement for our batch is very good. There is about 80% to 90% of students are placed all over India. The highest salary was given INR 4.8 lacs per annum. The average salary was INR 1.8 lacs per annual. There are about 80% students who got internships from college.
Infrastructure: Other are Wi-Fi, labs, classroom, library, medical facilities, sport, and games are available on the campus. The quality of labs and classroom are very good. Very good quality of food available is given by the canteen. The hostel room is big and clean. I have not to face any issues.
Faculty: The teacher is very helpful and punctual. And highly qualified and very knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good. Many teaching methods are used in college. The student to faculty ratio is very good. Yes, I got industry exposure. The course curriculum is useful.
Other: Many events are held and annual sport and scholarship are given in our college.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of poor placements in 2013.
Placements: The placements of my senior batch was good but in my batch the percentage was less than average. It was not at all good. Most of the companies were fake. And the companies which came were mostly software companies with less packages. Not at all satisfied.
Infrastructure: No doubt the infrastructure of this college is very good. Right from thr college campus to their hostels, sports complex, auditorium. Everything is way too good. We had free Wi-Fi across the campus. The quality of food was also good. Hostel rooms were good.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful and qualified but the method of teaching was not too good. As the course curriculum is based on bput, we were expected to learn the notes by the end of the semester and give the exam. We did not get industry exposure. Being a passed out student I did not find a course curriculum useful.
Other: Only one annual function in the whole year (vasantika) there was nothing more than that.

Dissatisfied because of placements in 2016 and previous year placements.
Placements: The college is not up to the mark. The placements for our batch were too low and even lower for our senior batches. Just 18%-20% of the students were placed. The highest salary offered was approximately 2.50 lacs per annum, and the lowest was around 60,000 per annum. 30 odd companies visited the campus like Shriram, Wipro for call centre associates, Maa Durga mills, etc. The roles were said to be of engineers, but work was not as per that. zero % of the students got the internship from college. There is a placement cell, and it is working average.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. The Wi-Fi is not so fast. The Wi-Fi facility is there on the campus, but it's too slow, and connectivity is not good. The labs are good. The classrooms are nice and big. The library is well-maintained, and a lot of collections can be found. The medical facilities are up to the mark. Sports and games facilities are nice. The food in the canteen is good and surplus. The hostel rooms are nicely cleaned and maintained on a regular basis. The hostel rooms are big, ventilated and well-organized. I didn't face any infrastructure issues during my tenure at the college besides Wi-Fi and sometimes the quality of food.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality can be said to be average. Regular classes and as per need extra classes were arranged with ease. The students to faculty ratio are 25:1. One or two times, I got industry exposure. We were taken to Bhubaneswar for one day workshop in electrical power systems. The course was useful.
Other: Regular fest like annual fest was organised on a yearly basis. Events like workshops, project exhibition, were organised. The campus crowd is good. The connectivity to the campus is somewhat away from city Cuttack. Bus and local train facility is there but not so frequent. The campus surroundings is that of a small village named Tangi. The scholarship from state government is provided. Extracurricular activities like rangoli, extempore competition, games are organised on a regular basis.

Being the part of this prestigious organisation was good.
Placements: The college has the great placement record. The students get the regular salary more than 3 LPA. Since it's beginning, DRIEMS has focused on the placement. It has the good track record both in the field of software and the core industry. The students are getting posted if they are required.
Infrastructure: According to the infrastructure, this is the best institute you have ever studied. It has a high-class library. The whole campus is enabled with the Wi-Fi facility. The playground, gym, swimming pool, and much more facilities are there on the campus. The environment is good to study. The canteen is good and clean.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly experienced and are the best. The classrooms are well mentioned. The faculty members emphasise on the completion of the course before the examinations. Sometimes, the extra classes are arranged for the needy students. In the final year, we visited nearby industry for the practical knowledge.

In short, our Institute is good for IT students, but not too good for core students.
Placements: The placement service is quite good and is better for the IT sector. Our college brings more placements in the IT sector than the core sector. In our time, around 20-25 companies come to our college, among them 5 from core sector and other are from it sector. Also after passed out, they allow us to participate in the placement process.
Infrastructure: In my point of view, the infrastructure is best on our campus. It is one of the largest infrastructure institutes in Odisha. It has separate buildings for all departments/branches. In all departments, the facilities are awesome. It is having a good library known as the knowledge garden. All types of playgrounds are there inside our campus. Also, a cricket playground is there that was taken by OCL.
Faculty: In this case, our institute is not too good. Faculty members are not capable enough of handling students' studies. But not all them, only some of them. The course is also not completed before the exam. They can cover 70-75% of the course in all semesters and all subjects. But in some cases, the course was fully covered.

Infrastructure is the best bet of DRIEMS.
Placements: For placement assistance, DRIEMS has a dedicated placement cell named as Career Development Cell (CDC) which works throughout the year to assist the students in various career development options. But due to the lack of jobs in the market, it is very much difficult for the CDC to avail jobs for each and every student. So if anyone wants to get a decent job, he needs to be serious in studies and other career guidance activities. As per my experience, the placement opportunity in DRIEMS is above average.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is the asset of DRIEMS. It has the best infrastructure among the affiliated colleges of BPUT. It has a huge campus with hostels, playgrounds, a gym, a cafeteria, well-equipped labs, spacious classrooms, and a well-stocked library here. DRIEMS also houses an international-level cricket ground and a swimming pool inside its campus. A well-connected transport facility is also available for the students. A 24-hour Wi-Fi facility, on-campus medical facilities, separate hostels for boys and girls, and a 1000-seater auditorium are also part of DRIEMS infrastructure. The food and other facilities in the hostel are good.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members of the institute are above average as per standard. The faculty members constitute a healthy mix of young and experienced persons. The course curriculum is almost same as the other BPUT affiliated colleges. Rigorous daily classes with laboratory practicals and industry visits are part of the curriculum. As per my experience, the basic science and engineering curriculum in the early engineering years are good but the later part of the course lacks some expertise. A student has to work hard to gain knowledge in engineering. This section though not so good but is decent.

Our college has good infrastructure and sports complex.
Placements: About 15% of students took the electrical course at my time. The highest salary offered was Rs. 30,000 per month, and the lowest salary offered was Rs. 8,000 per month. The average salary offered was Rs. 15,000 per month. Top recruiting companies like Google, Wipro, etc., visit our college to hire students from our course. Around 80% of the students got an internship in various companies like IMFA, Tata, Jindal, etc.
Infrastructure: The hostel quality is outstanding. Wi-Fi facility is good and present everywhere. The library is one of the biggest libraries in Odisha. There is a huge playground for outdoor sports. It also has a huge indoor sports complex. It provides huge classrooms in all branches. Labs are properly maintained and properly decorated. Classes timing is right.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are well-behaved and very helpful. They are well-qualified with good teaching ability. Students are the main priority on this campus. Teachers are so punctual.
Other: I have chosen this course because, from my childhood, I had a dream to become an electrical engineer. Our institution helped me a lot to achieve my success.
