B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2028
4.0
Good faculty and decent placements.
Placements: Around 70-80 percent of students got placed in Electrical. The highest package is about 6 LPA-7 LPA, the average is around 3 LPA-3.5 LPA, and the lowest is 2 LPA-2.5 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Wipro, L&T, Tata Power, and Vedanta. Nearly 40-50 percent of students got internships in companies like Tata Power, OPTCL, and JSPL, with major roles offered as GET, Electrical Engineer, and Maintenance Engineer.
Infrastructure: The department has good classrooms, full-time Wi-Fi, well-equipped electrical labs, and an updated library. Hostels are average with basic rooms, clean washrooms, and decent mess food. The canteen is okay, medical help is available on campus, and sports facilities like a ground, indoor games, and a gym are provided.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, well-qualified, and explained concepts clearly, so overall teaching quality was good. The curriculum is relevant and includes labs that help students become industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty, and most students pass, with the pass percentage usually above 80 percent.
Other: Our batch had a friendly environment and good faculty support in Electrical Engineering. I chose this course because of my interest in circuits, machines, and their career options. The best part of the course was the strong lab exposure and helpful teachers. I wish the placement opportunities in core companies were even better. The campus has fests, technical events, a decent crowd, good bus connectivity, and a clean, green surrounding with scholarship options and extracurricular activities that keep students engaged.

Good placements, decent infrastructure, supportive faculty members, and active campus life.
Placements: Around 70-80 percent of students got placed. The highest package is 12 LPA, the lowest is 3.5 LPA, and the average is 5 LPA - 6 LPA. Top recruiters included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, and Accenture. About 60 percent of students got internships at ATIT firms, startups, and core companies, mainly as software engineers/analysts.
Infrastructure: Our department has good classrooms with projectors, Wi-Fi, well-equipped labs, and access to a central library. Hostels have basic facilities, though rooms are average. Mess food is decent but repetitive, and the canteen offers better options. Medical unit is available on campus. Sports grounds and indoor games are well-maintained.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and supportive, though teaching quality varies. The curriculum is updated with basics and electives, but extra skills are needed for industry readiness. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty, focusing on understanding. Pass percentage is around 85-90 percent in most batches.
Other: I chose electrical engineering for its wide scope in power, machines, and electronics. The best parts are strong fundamentals, labs, and PSU/IT opportunities. It needs more industry tie-ups and modern tools. Campus fests, clubs, sports, scholarships, and good connectivity make students' life lively and engaging.

Good campus, average faculty members, and decent placements.
Placements: At PMEC Berhampur, around 65-70% of students in my course got placed. The highest package is 10 LPA, the lowest is 3 LPA, and average is 4.5 LPA to 5 LPA. Top recruiters included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Vedanta, and Jindal. About 40-50% of students secured internships in firms like TCS, Vedanta, NTPC, with roles such as GET, software developer, and system engineer.
Infrastructure: My department at PMEC has Wi-Fi, modern labs, smart classrooms, and a well-stocked library. Hostels offer basic facilities, though food in the mess and canteen is average. Medical care is available on campus, and good facilities exist for sports and games to support students' overall growth.
Faculty: Teachers at PMEC are helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good, with focus on both theory and practical. The curriculum is relevant and updated to industry needs, with added skill training. Semester exams are moderately difficult. But with preparation, most students pass. The pass percentage is around 85-90% in my course.
Other: I chose this course for strong career prospects and interest in the field. Best parts are practical labs, supportive teachers, and placement scope. It needs improvement in core company visits and advanced tools. PMEC has vibrant fests, active clubs, scholarships, good campus life, and friendly crowd.

Absolutely satisfied with faculty members, placements are too good, and the college is extraordinary
Placements: Around 65-70% of students are placed in our course. The highest package is 7 LPA, the lowest is 2.5 LPA, and the average is around 4 LPA. Top recruiters included TCS, Wipro, Infosys, L&T, and Capgemini. About 35-40% of students secured internships at companies like DRDO, NTPC, OPTCL, and private firms. Top roles offered are GET, software developer, system analyst, and associate engineer.
Infrastructure: Our department has well-equipped labs, Wi-Fi, spacious classrooms, and a good library. Hostel facilities are decent with basic amenities. Mess food is average, canteen is better. Medical aid is available, and sports facilities support various games.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good, with some using modern methods. The curriculum is mostly relevant but needs more industry focus. Semester exams are moderately tough. The pass percentage is around 85-90%. With regular study and class attendance, exams are manageable. The course builds a solid base but could offer more practical exposure.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in it, and I love electrical engineering. The best thing about my course is that above 60% of students get placed in electrical and receive many internships. I think there is no need for any changes in my course. All activities are good at PMEC.

The government tag makes it valuable.
Placements: In this academic year of 2025, around 260 students have been placed in good companies like Alok Industries, MRF Tyres Ltd, Jai Bajaj Group, etc. 7 LPA is the highest package of this year, and 3 LPA is the average package. In this academic year, around 700 students started for the placement, and around 250 students were placed.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not renovated. The old infrastructures are not repaired. On-campus hostels are good, but the college has fewer seats than many students. Ten students are trying to get one student room; it’s too hilarious that if you have fewer rooms for the hostel, then why do you admit so many students? Many students live off-campus or in rented houses with increased costs. In this college, there is a criterion that to have a certain CGPA, you cannot get any room; only the highest CGPA holders can get rooms, which is hilarious to know.
Faculty: Teachers are good, but the curriculum is decent. Exams are also good and strict, as in a government college. Teaching quality is good, but they cannot complete the course on time. Teachers cannot complete the courses, and students cannot achieve the expected marks in the semester.
Other: The electrical branch is the famous branch in my college, and I didn't choose this branch; the branch chose me. In this post, the best things are the faculty members who are very trained and supportive. I would improve my course, especially regarding placements and events. The campus crowd connectivity and surroundings, scholarship opportunities, and extracurricular activities are also very good; they are supportive and help us in these areas.

Not good for placements, so don't choose it.
Placements: Placements are not so good. As it is a government college, the expectation is high. Only 2-3 companies visit our college. Bajaj, Tata Power, Havells, etc., visited our college. Bajaj is the top recrutior. The highest package offered is 2.8 LPA. The lowest package offered is 1.7 LPA. Many students choose to do internships in Tata Power.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi all over the campus with CCTV security. The library is good with all types of technology books. Classrooms are spacious and digitally updated. Labs are very good with all apparatus used in industry. There are two hostels, one boys hostel outside the campus and a girls hostel inside the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. They are highly qualified and experienced. They all have done their master's and postgraduate. The course curriculum is good. It makes us ready for the industry. There are two semesters in a year conducted by BPUT. Each semester has two sessionals which are conducted by the college.

This is a Government college .
Placements: This is a government college, so placements are not so high, but overall, it is good. In this year, 2-3 companies like Tata Power, Bajaj Electronics, Havells, etc., visited our college. The highest package offered was 3.2 Lacs per annum, and the lowest package offered was 1.9 Lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good. The college campus is big. There are two hostels: one boys' hostel outside the campus and a girls' hostel inside the campus. There are playgrounds like a cricket ground, volleyball court, badminton court, etc. Classrooms are spacious and digitally updated. Labs are spacious and have all the chemicals and apparatus used in the industry.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. They are highly qualified and experienced. They clear our doubts in the class or after the class by taking extra classes. They use simple language, which is easy to understand. The course curriculum is very good. There are two semesters in a year conducted by the University BPUT, and each semester has two sessionals, which are conducted by the college.

Parala Maharaja Engineering College is a very good college with an above-average placement record.
Placements: About 60% of students got placed last year. Most of the students were placed with salary package between 3 LPA-5 LPA. Most of the students placed were from the Computer Science and Engineering branch. The highest salary package offered was 7 LPA. In short, the placements were above average for the students who passed out. Some students are pursuing M.Tech and MBA from reputed institutes and some students got placed through off-campus placements.
Infrastructure: My department is Electrical Engineering Department. Electrical department has a very good reputation in our college. Our department has smart boards for the faculty members for teaching purposes. Our department has many labs like the machines lab and control system lab. Our hostel has 4 floors and a mess that provides meals to students 3 times a day.
Faculty: Teachers of our college are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They are very helpful to their students. Sometimes they take extra classes for the completion of the course so that students never face problems during exam time. They always try to make their students very successful. Semester exams are strictly followed in our college.
Other: I have an interest in electrical engineering, so I chose this course. I should improve myself for industrial work in the electrical field. Inter-college sports are played in our college every odd semester, we have also inter-branch sports.
