Dumka Engineering College is worth it.
Placements: Placement opportunities are less compared to other colleges in Jharkhand. Very few or no companies come to the college. If you are capable, then you can surely grab good packages both on and off campus. Recently, it has collaborated with Techno India, Main Salt Lake, and Kolkata, so now its placement rate is increasing.
Infrastructure: Faculty members are too good, and professors are helpful. College life is okay, neither good nor bad. Classrooms are now upgraded to smart classrooms, and the library is also present and we can borrow issue books for a year. The hostel is okayish but hygienic, though the food is not healthy too, it's very oily.
Faculty: The course is relevant, it comes under Jharkhand University of Technology, Ranchi, so the course is relevant for placements and all. Exams happen monthly, and one can easily pass if they give 1 to 2 hours daily. Also, professors are well-qualified, they have done their Ph.D. from renowned institutes.
Other: Here, the tech fest is conducted by the college every year, and we enjoy a lot. Also, sports tournaments happen. In tech branches, most of students get placed, so it's one of the best things about the college.

It is a good college to study in.
Placements: High placements are provided in our college and are increasing every year. The salary package offered is high. The recruiting company is Infosys.
Infrastructure: The hostel atmosphere is good. Practicals are done regularly in labs.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are very good and highly qualified. They encourage students to take part in projects and seminars. They provide highly appreciative feedback on students for their growth and development. Teaching is very good. Our seniors are supportive.
Other: I chose this course to gain the best knowledge. The infrastructure of our college should be developed.

All things are good except placements and internship.
Placements: The placements rate are very low. Believe me, only 4 to 5 students just get placed every year out of 180 students. Literally, 4 students, believe me. Hence, the placement rate is 3%. I know it is hard to believe, but it is the reality of Dumka Engineering College. And one important note is that our college does not provide any on-campus placements. They just sent 10 students to Techno India Main Salt Lake, Kolkata (as it is run by Techno India). Out of 10, only 4 got placed in each department.
Infrastructure: Campus life is good, not that bad. Lots of greenery, and it is pretty decent and beautiful. Classrooms are also quite decent. Labs, lab teachers, smart rooms, library, and everything is available as required with no problem there. Hostel food is not that good, pretty decent and oily as usual. Sports and games do happen every year.
Faculty: Teachers are well-educated and skilled, but the only main problem is placements and internship. All teachers are well-qualified, and everyone has done either their Ph.D., M.Tech., or B.Tech. from IITs and NITs. The course curriculum is difficult, but you can pass easily if you study well.
Other: I chose this course as I have an interest in coding and computers, and the main thing is CSE has scope and it gives quite a pretty good salary. E-Kalyan scholarship is available for OBC, SC, and ST students who belong to Jharkhand. The free seat will get around 30k of scholarship, and the payment seat usually will get 65k to 70k+ scholarship every year.

Average college, Good placements for IT guys.
Placements: 70-80% Students were placed, but the main reason is only it companies recruit students. Core branches (CE, ME, EE) students also apply for IT jobs or preparing for government jobs because of Lake of core jobs. Avg package offered by IT companies is around 4-5lakh.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, smart Classrooms are available and library have inof books for semesters as well as GATE or other compitative exams. You can join hostel if you want otherwise PGs are available in walking distance from tha campus, in college hostel there are 3 students in a room.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, few have Ph.D. degrees or most of lectures have master degree, lab assistants are also qualified. Course curriculum is decided by the University (Jharkhand University of Technology). Semester exams are not too much difficult if you are studying regularly.
Other: As we know that Electrical branch is a mother branch, in this branch there are many opportunities in government as well as pvt sector. Basically I choose this course because I want to join PSUs by qualfiying GATE exm.

Our college is good to spend four years.
Placements: Placements provided on-campus were average. MNCs did not offer placements but small growing companies offered placements with good salary packages.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was average but students got valuable degrees. There was a good hostel but the food served was not hygienic. I was dissatisfied with the hostel food.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were good, very helpful, caring, supportive, and qualified. They did not give enough time until students show any interest.
Other: Our college was very good.

Dumka Engineering College: Good faculty and labs, but needs better teaching quality and placements.
Placements: Placement records at DEC present a mixed picture. Some students report that the college provides good placement opportunities in companies like TCS, Tata Steel, Infosys, and Wipro. The placement rate ranges from 30-70%. However, others have expressed concerns about limited placement opportunities, with some reviews mentioning a placement rate as low as 10%. It's worth nothing, so some students have secured positions through off-campus placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure includes well-maintained classrooms and laboratories. The campus is equipped with Wi-Fi, and each course has dedicated laboratories to support academic activities.
Faculty: Faculty members at Dumka Engineering College are generally well-qualified and supportive. Many faculty members are M.Tech or PhD degrees, indicating a strong academic foundation. In theory subjects, a student must secure at least 21 marks out of 70 (30%) in the end-semester examination and a total of 35 marks (35%) when combined with internal assessment. Practical examinations and projects: A minimum of 50% of the total marks is required to pass.
Other: The campus life at DEC is described as vibrant, with students engaging in various extracurricular activities such as drama, dance, and exhibitions. The college is situated in a rural area, which some students find less convenient, but the campus itself is considered safe and well-guarded. Its proximity to Dumka railway station (0.5 KM) and bus stand (2 KM), adds to its accessibility. Students generally appreciate the academic environment and faculty members at DEC. The college boasts experienced and skilled faculty members.

Dumka Engineering College provides B.Tech courses, but the education quality is not as high as in IITs, NITs, or BITs. The teachers are knowledgeable, and some are from IITs, but the teaching and academic standards are not at the same level as these top institutes. Students looking for a strong acad
