Q:   What entrance exams are accepted by Faculty of Technology University of Delhi for admission to B.Tech.?
A:

As the University of Delhi's Faculty of Technology is concerned, JEE Main scores are taken into consideration to admit students for B. Tech. B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2027

About faculty of technology, facilities provided, and opportunities available.
Placements: Engineering at DU was started in 2023, and hence the first batch will pass in 2027. But as I discussed with our faculty members, they confirmed MOU signing with Google and are in talks with other major giants like Siemens. One of our faculty members mentioned the culture of our placement cell, even we as teachers are said by authorities to bring companies.
Infrastructure: All the classrooms are well-equipped with basic facilities like well maintained cooling system, smart boards, and other such basic facilities. Talking about hostels, that is the only shortcoming of our college. There is no specific hostel designed for the students of faculty of technology. But we do have certain number of seats (3-4) in each of the DU hostels.
Faculty: As I said, faculty members are well-equipped with multi-domain knowledge. Most of them have done their prior studies at IITs. Curriculum is designed as per the new education policy. You will get hands-on experience of working on hardware in the labs which we as FOT are equipped with. There is a wide range of choices we get for subjects based on our interests, and we are free to choose. I mean, there is this minor degree scheme in our college. Talking about faculty members, almost all have done doctorate in their specific domain. Some of them have work experience of more than 25 years, and even the visiting faculty members are from renowned institutions such as DTU.

Better option than private, but it's all about what options you have.
Placements: Currently, no batch has passed out. Our 1st batch will pass out in 2027. So, currently, there is no information about placement. As our faculty is well-qualified and they have good connections since some of them have been heads of the placement cell of some reputed colleges like DTU.
Infrastructure: Currently, our classes are going on in Maharishi Kanad Bhawan in the Science department of the North campus of DU. Our main building construction is ongoing and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. No hostel is provided by the college. Many students live in PGs near the campus area, and some live in flats.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-qualified and have good connections, as some of them have been heads of the placement cell of some reputed colleges like DTU. They are polite and helpful. They always help with problems related to curriculum activities. There is one mid-semester exam in every semester.

Bad college life in the faculty of technology
Placements: Our batch is the first batch of the FOT so no placements have been made previously and we expect a good placement in upcoming years as Delhi University is a big name in the world and all over India. The average package expected by students is a minimum of 12 lakhs which is good for a new college and first batch. Internship will depend on the skills of the student in the college.
Infrastructure: No hostel is allotted to students by Delhi University, which is a very big problem for the students. Now students are living in different pg and flats, and private hostels . The canteen is not as good as such, but it is okay, and none of the sports facilities are provided by the college. Some of the medical facilities can be accessed by the Delhi University-provided hospital.
Faculty: Teachers present are very highly qualified, full of knowledge, and they have a very helpful nature indeed . The course curriculum is very relevant to the syllabus, but it doesn’t make the students industry-ready because no industry visit has been arranged. Semester exams are tough but okay for the average students AND PASS PERCENTAGE IS almost 85%.
Other: I chose this course as I was having flair in B.Tech and specially in computer science. I would say to improve the college life in the college. The college should have different fests and events and have different extracurricular activities.

College life here is happening. The college has a green campus.
Placements: Students are very bright, intellectual, and hardworking. Students got internships from this college with an above-average package. The college provides various opportunities to showcase our skills, and the students themselves are very excited to participate in the various workshops.
Infrastructure: Currently, the college does not provide hostels for students. However, there are PGs available nearby the college campus with affordable prices, as well as flats. Wi-Fi is available on the college campus, the labs are well-equipped, and all the classrooms have AC and digital boards.
Faculty: Faculty of the college are experienced and well-qualified. The curriculum is easy for the students. The faculty are very friendly and help us to solve queries regarding the course and also about personal stuff. The easy exams are quite tough, but if you attend the classes regularly, you can get good grades.
Other: College can improve in sports. The college has good faculty members, and the college staff are very friendly.

All I can say is that our college is new, but it will get better over time.
Placements: Our first batch will pass out in 2027, so we can only hope for good placements as it's located on the North Campus of Delhi University and our faculty is also well-qualified. The placement cell of our college is organizing different workshop programs to enhance the skills of the students.
Infrastructure: As our building is not ready, the construction of our building is going on. It's expected that it will be completed by 2026. And there is no hostel provided by the college. Some students get a university hostel by some reservation. All students live in PGs and flats.
Faculty: Faculty of our college are well-educated and well-qualified. Some of them are deans of other colleges, and now they teach here. Their behavior toward students is polite and friendly. They help us to solve our different queries and the problems that arise in students' lives.

I'm not fully satisfied with college, but I'm hopeful it give us good opportunities in the future.
Placements: The B.Tech course starts in 2023. Placements are yet to happen. As the college has direct access to the main placement cell of the North Campus of the University of Delhi, placements are good. Internships are most probably provided in the third year by FAANG companies.
Infrastructure: There is no separate building for FOT B.Tech. Classes are conducted in the main North Campus of Delhi University. The assigned building has a limited number of rooms, but it is sufficient for two consecutive batches of students. Labs are good, but there are no sports facilities or games available. Wi-Fi facility is available. There are no hostels for B.Tech students. The food quality in the university canteen is extremely good, and medical facilities are also available.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified but not very experienced. Most of them are NIT graduates. There are some senior teachers who work hard to do their best for students. The course is similar to that of any other college, but it has some differences and provides a lot of practical knowledge. For example, in the 3rd semester, we are taught backend development, and in the 4th semester, we will be taught app development. The level of exams is very good, and practical knowledge is important to score good marks. The passing percentage is 50%.
Other: There are no events or fests conducted on campus for Faculty of Technology students. There are no extracurricular activities, but under certain subjects, periods are allotted once a week for activities like Sports for Life or Quit India. There are no scholarships given to students, but there is a criterion for fee concession based on family income, which you can find on the Faculty of Technology website.
