Best infrastructure and best course.
Placements: Gitam university is well known for its placements and infrastructure. From my batch there are 63 students and out of them 50 are placed in top most companies like accenture, tcs, delloite. Etc. And the highest package was of 7 LPA and most of the candidates that applied for jobs got selected through our college. In GITAM we had a wide range of recruitment companies so the placements were smooth.
Infrastructure: Gitam offers an astonishing infrastructure for the students, the labs and the classrooms are top notch and you will find the most organized hostels in gitam which are way more cleaner than any hostel you ever visited. The best thing about gitam is when you look around it is all green because of the plantations we have in our college and you can get almost all kinds of food items that are sold in the campus.
Faculty: The professors in gitam are well educated and they know their subject very well and they are always trying to teach new things to the students, and when it comes to semester exams professors are always helping in the preparation and more care is given to students that are slow learners.
Other: I am so fascinated about machines so I have taken mechanical engineering, there is nothing I wish to improve in this course because the course was well taught to the students.

The college provided a good atmosphere to learn about life.
Placements: Approximately 40-50% of students were placed in mechanical engineering. In mechanical engineering, 6 LPA is the highest salary package, the least salary package offered was 4 LPA, and the average salary package offered was almost 4.5 LPA. Fiat, Tech Mahindra, and TCS were top recruiting companies in mechanical engineering. GITAM's placement team works hard to bring placements to their students.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available for mechanical engineering are Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library. The library was good and accessible and the lab in-charges were more cooperative with students. The quality of the facilities in the hostel was good. A clean and hygienic atmosphere was maintained. The quality of food available in the mess was good but in some cases, they were not maintained continuously.
Faculty: Most often, the teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable but very few teachers were unworthy. The quality of teaching was good and made students involved in the subject. The semester exams maintained all the standards. The pass percentage was maintained at almost 95%.
Other: Events, fests, and extracurricular activities were helpful to the students to get motivated in all spheres.

The college has great infrastructure, but dissatisfying faculty and commercial management.
Placements: In 2021, in the mechanical engineering branch, the placement percentage in the core sector was 1.2% (2 students out of 190). I was one of them, and I got placed off-campus. Only 1 student got placed in the core sector. The placement percentage in IT companies like Cognizant, Accenture, TCS, Infosys, etc., is average, like around 30% of the mechanical students got placed. So, the overall placement percentage of the course is 32-35%. The highest package offered in the core sector is 3.5 LPA by Coromandel International for the position of Graduate Engineer Trainee. I got placed in Planet Spark in placements at the end because I waited for core companies. I went to the last interview for Coromandel, and there were 9 other members with me, with great academics than me, but only one got recruited. Later, I tried off-campus placements and got selected as a mechanical design engineer with a package of 40,000 per month. For internships, you are on your own, and the college will not help you with anything but will show something in the media, but it's completely impractical in reality.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. There is a separate building for mechanical engineering, but after the change in the government, there is an issue that most of the part is illegal, so they shifted to another Bhavan, which is okay. Mechanical bhavan is good with trees around, but during the rainy season in the corridors, it stinks. The labs are well-equipped with good machines, but the sad reality is no one will teach you. There is no Wi-Fi available in college, and even the mobile networks will be as low as possible to the worst. The hostel facilities are good that too 1 Bhavan named RBS is perfect and cost-efficient, and the remaining 2 Bhavans, SS and VSS are very bad and expensive. For 1st year, there will be a separate hostel which is of high cost with almost the same facilities. The food is okay with a little adjustment on some days. We can't expect home-like food or restaurant food in hostels, but it is fine and cost-efficient.
Faculty: The most important aspect of B.Tech is both enjoyment and a career path. In my 4 years of experience, 90% of teachers are not skilled and can't even speak proper English and don't know what to explain. 5% of the professors are good, and at least they will say something, but they have ego problems and are not helpful. There will always be some talented professors who are even ready to help and guide even after graduation, but they can be counted on fingers. This is about all the faculty in the college, not just in mechanical engineering. The curriculum is no different from normal colleges. Never expect or compare it with IITs or NITs. The remaining factors are the same as in every college.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering with passion and interest, and I am requesting you to be prepared for tougher career opportunities and low starting packages. Without interest, please don't choose this course in any college. The best things in mechanical engineering are if you are placed in the core sector, it will be secure almost equal to government jobs with few adjustments like salary etc. You will find true friendship and the most memorable part of life and will cherish till the end. Mechanical engineering is evergreen. In India, this course is less likely chosen because of its complexity and tougher fight in career opportunities and packages, but with good improvement in curriculum, the packages will be the same as that of a front-end developer because there is no world without mechanical and civil fields. With good teaching facilities, it is possible for good opportunities even in India. GITAM conducts a good number of events, fests etc. The surroundings are excellent. The campus is very near to Rushikonda beach at a walkable distance. I think they are changing rules and regulations, which may decrease the number of events at present, and I am not sure about that. My friend with 85% attendance and 7.2 CGPA, and some other friends with 75% attendance with 8.5 and above CGPA's, and I did not get a scholarship. Attendance plays a huge role than your academics. The number of people who received scholarships is like 3 people per course I think. I think there are some changes made in rules now, I am not sure about that, but don't expect high no matter what the rules are.

I chose CSE because I like computer Science. In this course, we learn a lot about programming.
Placements: Placements: Associate software engineer and software engineer intern are the roles that are most frequent for students who opted for our course. There is a high percentage of students who got placed in our course. The average salary package offered is 3.5 GITAM is deemed to be University so probably they will consider people with good knowledge and grades around 80%. They also have some tie-ups with top MNCs like Microsoft and many companies will come during the recruitment process like TCS, Amazon, Wipro, and many more. They make sure that every person will get placed atleast in one company. Some companies will allow students who are having low percentages like 60-70%. The companies see student's profiles whether they are matching or not. The highest salary package offered is 12 LPA by MNCs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is amazing, I like it a lot. Facilities are also pretty good and they provide everything we need. We have Wi-Fi all around the campus but it works at some places only. The library is very wide and peaceful. Coming to the quality of food in the canteen I can say that it has the best food.
Faculty: Teachers here are helpful, they will give us knowledge. Teaching quality is also good. But we do have many exams which I don't like and semester exams are quite good because our college is autonomous. So we do not need to worry about exams like other colleges. The pass percentage is 40%. .

Review of GITAM Institute of Technology, Visakhapatnam.
Placements: Placements are null. Our course students try to get it, but due to lack of placements, students try to go to CSE related placements. Students try to get it, but they can't get it.
Infrastructure: I didn't stay on the official campus hostel, but I heard it is average. They used to charge high. Classrooms depend on students' utilisation. Infrastructure according to our course is good. The digital library is very useful in some way.
Faculty: Teachers are good and supportive. They try to tend students. They are very resourceful, and they help backward students. They are very helpful, and they try to encourage students to do better.
Other: I have chosen this course because my parents said to choose this course.

I am a mechanical engineer from GITAM, hyd, i suggest you to not take mechanical in GITAM as there are very less companies coming. Placements are very poor, not even (20 %).
