GCEK has good faculty members but low placements.
Placements: In my course, about 30-35% of students get placed in various companies, TPWODL is the best company, but it hired a few students. Some other companies also visited the college to hire students with a salary package that ranges from 3-4 LPA. TPWODL offers a salary package that ranges from 6-8 LPA, so most of the students are interested in it.
Infrastructure: In my course, sufficient classrooms are available. All classrooms are digitalised with air-conditioners. All floors have a Wi-Fi connection. But the facilities available in the hostel are poor, Sometimes water is not coming. Toilets condition is not good and rooms condition is also poor.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and well-educated. Their teaching quality is okay. But they do not show seriousness in classrooms. The course curriculum is similar to the professional curriculum, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate to hard and sometimes they are easy.
Other: I like the computer science course but due to the low percentage, I got the electrical course. But it is good enough in this college after computer science. The best thing about this course is the faculty members of this course, and they are well-educated. Some faculty members are IIT students, and their teaching style is very good. They are approachable to the students and clear every doubt of the course. If faculty members are teaching seriously then someone could do better of it. Many events are organised here in the month of February or March. It also organises tech fest which is a technical event.

College is not well-equipped with the facilities, but it is average with the price and education.
Placements: About 2 companies named Wipro and TCS had recruited students off-campus. Still, only 10-15 students out of 400 students got selected with a salary package of 2.7 LPA. There is not much scope for campus recruitment. Other companies are not much interested in this college as it is approximately 500 km far from the capital city, i.e., Bhubaneswar. It is because of lack of communication and transportation system.
Infrastructure: When I was a student of this college, there was no facility of the hostel, and it was under construction. Later the hostel was available for our juniors. Wi-Fi was only confined to the area near the entrance gate. Classrooms are typically average with all blackboard and desk benches. Labs were available here, but they were not operating due to the unavailability of staff members and equipment. The library was a bit average with a small amount of syllabus-related books and some magazines and newspapers.
Faculty: Faculty members were the major problem of our college. Teachers were not that experienced because of the location of the college. Many faculty members were on a contractual basis, so they lacked the required knowledge. Due to the absence of practical studies or experiments, students were not industry-ready.
Other: I have chosen this college because it was a government institution with a low admission fee. We had an annual function once a year, a technical festival, other national celebrations and all Poojas in the college.

I am unsatisfied due to the placement scenario. Unmaintained labs.
Placements: There is no on-campus placement opportunity. The college arranges off campus drives in different colleges. Currently, the college is new, and there is a disadvantage of the area as communication to Kalahandi is not good, no company is willing to invest there time and money to go to our college.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi. The library is pretty good with most required books and GATE materials are available. The hostels are well maintained but at times the water and electricity problem is there. Labs are well maintained but there are only a few pieces of equipment working for the students.
Faculty: Faculty members are best of the state, selected from the rigorous selection process. They will try their best to clear your doubts and encourages you for overall development. BPUT's curriculum is very outdated and doesn't fit for current industrial needs. Moreover, the university is careless in terms of result declaration.

Dissatisfied with college as they cannot be able to bring atleast single company in 2017.
Placements: In my batch out of 200 students 15-20 got placed. No companies came to my college at that time. Also 60-70 students had joined courses offered by CTTC as internship part. Avg package was 3.6 Lacs p. a. they got selected from off campus. But now our college has changed a lot. This year tech mahindra came to our college for recruitment process.
Infrastructure: Basically infrastructure was of moderate level. I. e you will get all the lab facilities almost. Library is good and Wi-Fi connectivity is pretty good. Hostel facility is very good. Foods are also of good quality. Only the tds level of water is little bit high. Other than that sports facility is also available.
Faculty: Yes, but not all teachers were helpful. At that time not so much teacher were available as it was in distant place. So teaching was not upto mark for which we suffered a lot during semesters. They are qualified but didnt give time in teaching. So it was not making student industry ready.
Other: I choose electrical engineering as I have interest in it since my childhood. But some how in our college teachers cannot teach us properly as usual like other government. Institutes. Also we take it recklessly. Now more qualified teachers are in our college. So its improving time to time. Quality of education also increasing.

It is a better place to enjoy in natural areas like forest and waterfall.
Placements: Placements are not good as you have to attend off-campus drive through other colleges which is faraway from GCEK. The college doesn't provide placements. Only the AMCAT test is conducted here.
Infrastructure: In our college the library is quite better than classrooms, air-conditioners are installed in the library, but classes have only fan and CCTV. And the English lab of our college is designed by IIT KGP designers. In college, there is a cafeteria, hair salon, book store and cybercafe available. Students and parents are allowed to stay inside the hostel and breakfast, lunch and dinner facilities are available for them.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are alumni of IIT, NIT and ISM. It is a prestigious and valuable institution. In final year professor are mentoring for project and seminar work. They also teach us how to crack interviews, etc.
Other: The annual function of GCEK is quite better than other colleges of Kalahandi.

It is a wonderful college in the backdrop of scenic Kalahandi district.
Placements: The college has started providing placements from 2009. Almost 70-75% of the students got placed in companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, communication organisations, state government jobs, etc. Some students qualified the GATE exam and were recruited by central and state government PSUs.
Infrastructure: The campus has a functional academic building, library, hostels, canteens etc. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Workshops and labs are opened from 10 AM to 5 PM. Functions and academic activities are organised in the auditorium. There are two boys' hostels and one girls' hostel until now. Hostels are well-equipped with 24x7 Wi-Fi facility. Water is available round the clock, which is managed by friendly wardens.
Faculty: It is a state government college. It offers 4 UG courses and 2 PG courses as of now. The college offers B.Tech courses like EE, CE, CSE and ME. Faculty members are professional in their field and have enough expertise as well as experience in their respective subject. Our principal sir is student-friendly and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to academic activities and designing the course curriculum.

Students in this college have to self-study.
Placements: No company has visited the campus till now. During our my tenure, we took the initiative to take part in off-campus drives collaborating with Government College of Keonjhor. Wipro is the only company visited to recruit the students. Teachers show no interest in the placements of students.
Infrastructure: It has been 4 years since its inception when I took admission in the college. The infrastructure of the main building was in progress. There were no labs except for the computer lab. There were also no hostels inside the campus. Only the students of 1st batch lived in the hostels of different colleges. The library has very limited books. No medical facilities were provided. There was no Wi-Fi facility nor playgrounds. The infrastructure can be rated 1 out of 10.
Faculty: There were 10 faculty members when we started our course in the college. There were some contractual lecturers too. In a few months, the number of faculty members has increased. The newly joined teachers were very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality increased with time. The student to teacher ratio was 90:1. We took the initiative to go for an industrial visit during our holidays. The course curriculum was not that helpful for the GATE entrance examination.
Other: There were events like a techfest, functions and annual games conducted by our college.

Faculty are the best and the placements are increasing.
Placements: Our alumni got placements in TCS, Wipro, Mahindra Tech and Infosys. Faculty are very friendly and active regarding placements, and seminars are also conducted periodically. Our college is guided by TEQIP, and free registration is also available in NPTEL.
Infrastructure: It's going to be a 5-floor building this year. A cafeteria, stationery laundry, and general store are available on the campus. All the labs are functioning well, and there are a big playground and hostel facility. The college is very good now, and NH connectivity is there. The weather is very cool, and the college has its own hostel. The college is developing for students who want to pursue M.Tech further, and all the main core branches are available in B.Tech.
Faculty: Faculty are very helpful and punctual, and there is no issue of any faculty shortage from this year. Faculty members try their best for students to get a better understanding. Faculty from reputed institutes also come to train us on some technical courses. GATE coaching is also conducted. Curriculum activities like annual function, techfest, sports day are conducted.
Other: A tech fest is conducted, and Prerna scholarship is available. It is a hilly valley area that is a little distance away from city with NH connectivity.
