B.A. (Hons.) in History - Batch of 2027
3.8
Good infrastructure, somewhat not so good faculty, but good exposure.
Placements: There are 103 students in total and not a lot of them went for corporate packages. But most pursue UPSC CSE, and others go for historiographical authorship. The exposure is vast, true, but there is a lack of practical skills teaching.
Infrastructure: Hansraj offers spacious classrooms, solid labs, a rich library, and decent campus Wi-Fi. The hostel is functional and clean. Mess food is hit or miss, but the canteen is lively and affordable. Sports facilities are great with courts and a gym, and basic medical support is available on campus.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and genuinely helpful. Curriculum is solid but slightly theory-heavy, needing more industry alignment. Exams are moderately tough, and pass rates are generally high with consistent effort. They do not care about your personal or vocational education. Teachers strongly encourage you to become a bookish nerd not focusing at all on your own life.
Other: It was the course I got due to a low score in CUET. Things to improve, I don't wanna discuss. Fests and events are okay, but not as much as expected.

Perfect placements, good faculty, excellent infrastructure, and a good environment too.
Placements: The placements are overall very good. People get up to 26-27 LPA packages each year, and that's increasing further with time. The placements come from large companies like Deloitte, PwC, Bain, and KPMG, etc. One of the most reputed colleges of Delhi University, it's a favorite place for the recruiters.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is overall good. The canteen and lounge area provide a good space to relax and take a break from the overwhelming schedule of the timetable. The college has three blocks, with Block B specifically for the Science department. There are several labs too.
Faculty: Teachers are overall very helpful and kind. Teachers do help, but you can't rely on them for attendance marks and IA adjustments, etc. You need to be regular with the classes. Overall, they do help you when needed. The teachers are well qualified and experienced.
Other: Eco Hons is a very reputed course in the UoD, and one of the most prodigious ones in Hansraj College too. It helps to develop excellent skills and placements further as well.

Life at Hansraj College: A student's POV.
Placements: The placements are really good. The average package was 10 LPA, the highest was 15-20 LPA, and the median package was 8 LPA. The recruiters are Deloitte, KPMG, Infosys, and many more. The major sectors they get placed in are banking, consulting, finance, research, and accounting.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is one of the aspects I really like. Classrooms have ACs installed and are really well maintained, which makes studying soothing. Also, the ambiance of the college is very nice. We have a lot of gardens where students can sit and interact or study.
Faculty: The faculty is very top-notch. Professors are very knowledgeable and approachable. They are graduates from top-notch colleges too, like SRCC or St. Stephen's. The exam pattern is credit-based: 4 credits for core subjects and 2 credits for less important subjects, and for 4 credits, there are 160 marks, which are further divided into 70+90. 70 for internal assessments and 90 for written examinations.

Helpful faculty members and decent infrastructure.
Placements: Almost no one pursuing the course gets placed on campus. Students pursuing internships from this course generally pursue unpaid internships in NGOs or paid internships in companies via their societies. Placement Cell, Internship Cell, Mark-It, Enactus, etc., are such societies.
Infrastructure: All classrooms have multiple ACs and fans. The labs are well-maintained and equipped with the required instruments. The library is also fully air-conditioned with a plethora of books and book genres to choose from. It is also equipped with many computers, which are accessible to students. There are 5 canteens in the college that allow one to access a large variety of food types. They are all of decent quality and taste. As far as sports are concerned, Hansraj has a large ground, an indoor air-conditioned badminton court, a yoga centre, a shooting range, a basketball ground, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are all quite helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They are exceptionally patient when it comes to teaching and demonstrate a noteworthy amount of interest in teaching students. The curriculum is relevant in terms of learning further about the subject, but it certainly does not make the students industry-ready, as there are no hard skills taught, and the education has little direct implementation in most jobs. Semester exams aren't particularly hard in general. They are easy to clear with little preparation. Topics like symbolic knowledge are definitely challenging.
Other: I chose this course because I had a genuine interest in philosophy. The best thing about my course is that it simultaneously enriches both the mind and the body. Philosophy is tremendously helpful when it comes to applying for law exams, CAT, GMAT, GREMAT, and other exams with reading comprehension and logical reasoning so it will definitely prove worthwhile in future. If you just want a Bachelor's degree at a decent college, then this degree is definitely worth considering.

    Students here are very competitive.
Placements: Hansraj doesn't offer many opportunities for placement in B.A. History Honours. I don't know much about placements for my course but what I have heard from my seniors is that it's not something to rely on for job opportunities. Overall the placements of Hansraj are impressive. The highest package of Hansraj is 23 LPA. The average package is 7 LPA-9 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Brain and Company, Deloitte, Accenture, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, etc.
Infrastructure: Not really happy about the infrastructure of Hansraj. Some classes are so small that it barely fits every student. Wi-Fi never works and AC doesn't do much in the summer times. Food is not really interesting either. You don't get the level of quality and taste that you expect since the food is not cheap at all.
Faculty: Love the teachers, they are very active in class and their teaching method is amazing which grabs your interest even when you are not interested. The curriculum includes core subjects as well as GE, VAC, AEC, and SEC. These subjects help in learning about things that are not in our core subjects. Exams can be tough if you have not studied before exams or have not paid attention in classes.
Other: Not really impressed by the crowd either. Some people are rude, but not everyone. Society's selection process is also very stressful, and people here are very competitive.

In Mitti Cafe, white sauce pasta is a must try.
Placements: There is very little scope for my course to get placements at Hansraj. About 20 percent of students from my course get placements at Hansraj. There are a lot of internships. Students should be highly skilled to get them. Other courses like B.Com. Hons and economics hons get a lot of placements. The highest package offered is 30 LPA. The average package offered ranges from 7-8 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the campus is big and beautiful. The campus is very peaceful at 5 PM. I sit in LP and enjoy the view at this time whenever I get a chance. Canteen food is amazing, and Mitti Cafe's white sauce pasta is a must-try. We can play sports on the ground. It has basketball court as well as a badminton court.
Faculty: Teachers are well-educated and experienced. They are not very helpful when it comes to clarification about the assignments and tests. Their main focus is on completing the chapters rather than interactive classes. The course curriculum is relevant, and exams are easy.
Other: My favourite thing to do in Hansraj is sitting in LP or in Mitti Cafe at 5 PM and enjoying the view. I have a lot of fun with my friends at Hansraj.

Everything is perfect except for events, as they do not take place at the college grounds.
Placements: Placements in my course are not something that we can rely on. A few students get placements from my course, i.e., about 20 percent. Mostly, students opt for higher studies or prepare for government exams like UPSE, M.A, law, etc. I am not sure about the highest package offered in my course, but the average package offered ranges from 5-6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really attractive and beautiful. The campus is always clean and has many facilities for students. It has a sports ground as well as a badminton court for both outdoor and indoor sports. Canteen food quality is nice, but the price is a little high. The taste is also okay. In Mitti Cafe and other meal stations, the quality and taste of the food are amazing, but they are quite pricey.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and supportive. They all are experts in their subjects. Teaching is of high quality, and classes are very interesting. The best thing about teachers is that they have separate classes for only doubt solving. The course curriculum is very relevant and focuses on what will actually help us in the future. The exam level is easy to moderate.
Other: I chose this course because I had an interest in history. Things I want to improve in college are that events take place in other areas rather than on college grounds.

It has a beautiful campus and supportive teachers.
Placements: Overall, Hansraj placements are really impressive compared to other DU colleges. Mostly commerce students get placements in top firms with the highest packages. A B.A. Honours in history doesn't have much scope for direct placements from the college campus. But we can still get placements if we are highly skilled. The package offered is more than 10 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hansraj has one of the finest infrastructures. It has 3 blocks, where different course classes take place. One thing I really like about the Hansraj is how peaceful it is. We can chill with your friends or alone at the library corridors, lovers point, garden next to the canteen, Mitti cafe, Amul Meal Station, etc. For sports lovers, many facilities are available.
Faculty: Faculty members of Hansraj are satisfactory, but sometimes the management fails to hold events together, which leads to chaos. Teachers from B.A. Honours in history are wonderful. They are super supportive and encouraging. They always clarify doubts after class and encourage class participation. Exams are not very hard, and we just need to focus on classes.
Other: Hansraj is one of the best colleges in overall Delhi University. It gives every kind of opportunity that a student needs in their college life. Societies also bring a lot of opportunities for students.
