Students pursuing HICAS BSc Computer Science course must go through the rigorous course curriculum as the institute follows the CBCS and LOCF pattern. • Private candidates under open schooling system
• Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations conducted by all other state boards
• Preference is given to candidates who passed in the first attempt

Candidates seeking admission to the BSc programme must meet the minimum HICAS BSc eligibility criteria set up by the institute and the University. BSc at HICAS is a three-year, full-time course offered in seventeen different specialisations and candidates who have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate with Maths as one of the main subjects can get admission to the HICAS BSc course. 

HICAS Coimbatore has a training and placement cell. The students are well trained to attain good placements through a variety of programmes run by the HICAS CR & Training Department such as:

• Industry to Institute Programmes
• Logical Reasoning, Aptitude, Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal training programmes offered through the reputed external training institutions
• Technical training programmes such as CTS, ZOHO, CSS Corp, and others
• Language learning programmes and others

The seat allotment for HICAS MBA course is based on marks obtained by candidates in the TANCET/ CET/ MAT followed by the GDPI. HICAS MBA seat intake is 240. Admission is purely based on merit, subject to the reservation rules of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the University. 50% of the total seat intake is to be filled as per the reservation policy stipulated by the regulatory bodies and remaining 50% of the seats are to be filled through the Management Quota.

Hindustan College of Arts and Science provides PhD course in various specialisations. Moreover, the eligibility criteria is that candidate should have passed graduation with a minimum of 55% aggregate. The entrance exams accepted for Hindustan College of Arts and Science PhD admissions include GATE, UGC NET, and CSIR NET.

For admission to Hindustan College of Arts and Science, applicants should pass Class 12 with PCM as the Main Subjects or a High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) of India or any of the equivalent exams conducted by any State Board. The applicants should have secured a minimum 45% aggregate with English as a mandatory subject of the course. A relaxation of 5% of the minimum aggregate is allowed for the SC/ST candidates.

Hindustan College of Arts and Science provides hostel facilities both for boys and girls. Over 2024 students are accommodated in both hostels. The hostel has a mess facility with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Also, Hindustan College of Arts and Science has a central canteen and six cafeterias inside the campus.
