IIIT Allahabad Courses & Fees 2026: UG, PG, Certificate Courses

Candidates taking admission to an MTech programme shall have a valid BE/BTech degree in a relevant discipline with at least 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST) from a recognised university. The candidates wanting to pursue M.Tech from IIITA need to take the GATE exam. Candidates with a valid GATE score are called for the CCMT Counselling rounds based on cutoff marks. Further, based on performance in the counselling round, seat allotment is carried out.

JEE Main Registration 2024 session 2 last date was March 4. NTA released JEE Main 2024 Application form session 2 on February 2. JEE Main Application form 2024 session 2 was available online on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. Candidates who have applied for JEE Main 2024 session 1 had not register again. Such candidates only need to fill the paper details (BE/BTech or BArch/BPlan) and pay application fees. JEE Main 2024 registration last date session 2 was March 4.

IIIT Allahabad is known to rank 87 as per NIRF 2024 BTech ranking. India Today 2024, on the other hand, ranks IIIT Allahabad on rank 10. 

As per the placement report, both the institutes recorded 100% placement rate in their flagship programme i.e. BTech. IIIT Lucknow offered the highest package of INR 62 LPA for the BTech programme and the highest package offered during IIIT Allahabad BTech placements 2024 was INR 121 LPA.

IIIT Allahabad courses are offered to students at the UG, PG, and PhD levels in full-time mode. Some of the popular courses offered by the institute are BTech, MTech,  MBA, and PhD across four departments, namely Applied Sciences, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Management Sciences.

To get admission at IIIT Allahabad, students must have a valid score in CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ GMAT. The institute offers a two-year full-time MBA programme for which the final selection is based on students' performance in a Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.

Admission to the MBA course is on the basis of CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT/MAT, followed by a personal interview (PI) round. The selection procedure is completed and carried out as per the IIIT Allahabad criteria. The institute has not released the official cutoff for the MBA course. Candidates seeking admission to the MBA programme should qualify for the basic eligibility criteria, which is a bachelor's degree of a minimum 3-year duration with at least 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC/ST category students).

IIIT Allahabad offers four-year BTech course in three specialisations. As per the JoSAA website, the institute offers BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Information Technology - Business Informatics. Admission to these courses is based on merit in JEE Main followed by JoSAA counselling. Aspirants must check eligibility requirements before applying for the exam.

For Information Technology, the cutoff must range between 250 and 675, for B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering, the cutoff must range between 540 and 637. The candidates are required to apply through the portal-CCMT and register through the GOAPS portal to GATE. There might be some departments of IIT Hyderabad also, which might consider direct applications of sponsored, part-time or non-GATE candidates. The process of the application is online.
