IIIT Trichy offers UG, PG and Doctoral-level courses. IIIT Trichy offers a four-year UG course of BTech across two specialisations. Admission to BTech is done through a national-level entrance exam, i.e., JEE Main, followed by JoSAA Counselling. Aspiring students need to qualify the exam with a valid score. JEE Main Round 6, has been released for admission to the BTech courses. As per IIIT Trichy JEE Main cutoff 2023, the Round 6 closing rank was 28888 for General category candidates in All India quota for Computer Science Engineering. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 35114 was the closing rank. BTech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.

Candidates are required to apply through the JEE Main and JoSAA for admission to the BTech programme. Candidate who successfully get sadmission through JoSAA must submit the below mentioned documnets in the IIIT Trichy's google form: 

• Downloaded copy of Provisional Allotment letter
• Proof of Institute balance fee paid
• Proof of hostel fee paid to the Institut
• Aadhaar card/ Passport/ Any government ID proof
• Downloaded Score Card with rank of JEE (Main)-2023 issued by NTA
• Transfer Certificate / leaving certificate from school last studied
• Mark sheet of qualifying examination (12th Mark Sheet)
• Class X (High School) Board Certificate as proof of date of birth & Name
• Conduct and character certificate from school last studied
• Social Category Certificate [GEN-EWS / OBC (NCL) / SC / ST] issued by the competent authority, if applicable
• Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), if applicable
• Medical fitness certificate as per the JoSAA 2023 format
• Digital Passport Size Photo (size mentioned in the Google Form)

As per the Shiksha verified review,"All the major equipment is available in the labs; Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus; and the hostels are well maintained and clean. Mess food is also good; we have a community to handle the mess." Students are very well satisfied with the campus facilities. The outstation students also like the canteen food. The learning environment in the college is quite good. 

For some students it has been observed that there is some scope of improvement in the library of the college but overall most of the students have positive reviews and feedback for the college.
