IIITDM Kancheepuram MDes is a two-year full-time programme. The PG-level programme in Integrated Product Design is spread over four semesters. IIITDM Kancheepuram MDes admission 2024 is completely entrance-based and depends on candidates' performance in the Common Entrance Exam for Design, popularly known as CEED, conducted by IIT Bombay. In the case of candidates having valid CEED scores, a category-wise merit list is prepared based on CEED scores. On the other hand, for self-sponsored/ Industry-sponsored/ QIP persons without CEED scores, the selection shall be based on a written test, followed by a PI round conducted by IIITDM Kancheepuram. However, before applying for the entrance exam, candidates have to be eligible for the programme:
Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Design/ Architecture (under 10+2+4 yrs regular) with a minimum aggregate of 60% (55% aggregate in case of SC/ ST/ PwD) or equivalent grades in the qualifying degree.

In 2022 the IIITDM Kancheepuram cutoff ended with Round 3. For the 2025 cutoff is to be released after declaration of the seat allotment result of each round.
