Admission to the University is both entrance and merit-based. IISER Kolkata offers five courses in the field of Research, Science, and Technology at UG, PG, and doctoral level, namely a five-year BS-MS Dual Degree programme, MS in Space Physics, Integrated PhD, PhD and Postdoctoral Research programme across seven departments and five centres of excellence. In March/April, application forms for all programmes offered at IISER Kolkata are made available to the students through an online application process. Students are admitted to the BS-MS Dual Degree programme through the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY), State and Central Boards Channel (SCB) via the IISER Aptitude Test, and JEE Advanced scores.
