Q:   I have got 2000 rank in JEE Advanced. What rank do I require to take admission in IIT Hyderabad?
A: 

No doubt, 2000 rank is a decent rank in JEE Advanced exam. Candidates securing this much of rank will surely get selection at IIT Hyderabad. However, for top courses like CSE and AI, they need to secure lesser than that. As per IIT Hyderabad JEE Advanced cutoff 2024, the required rank stood between 656 and 9551, wherein, the most sought-after course was BTech in CSE. Q:   I belong to the OBC category and aim for IIT Hyderabad with CSE or Electrical. How much rank should I target?
A: 

The last round closing ranks for the OBC AI category for IIT Hyderabad ranged between 302 and 4097 in the last round. CSE and Electrical were some of the toughest specialisations due to the competitive cutoffs. For CSE, the target should be below 302; while for Electrical, candidates belonging to the OBC category must target below 1021

Q:   What is the cutoff Artificial Intelligence at the IIT Hyderabad?
A: 

IIT Hyderabad released it's last round of cutoff list. As per the cutoff list, BTech in Artificial Intelligence was one of the most sought after specialisation. In the last round, the cutoff rank for AI among the General AI category candidates was closed at 875. In 2023 and 2022, the cutoff ranks for the same specialistion were 926 and 840, respectively.

Q:   Which entrance exam is required for admission to M.Des at IIT Hyderabad?
A: 

To get admission into IIT Hyderabad, the candidate must qualify the CEED exam and attain the required score. IIT Hyderabad MDes cutoff 2024 is based on CEED scores 2024 followed by the round-wise CEED Counselling. IIT Hyderabad CEED cutoff 2024 is out for Part A. The mean and standard deviation for CEED 2024 Part A are 41.90 and 16.72, respectively. Refer to the table given below to check out the CEED Part A cutoff 2024 for IIT Hyderabad.

Q:   Are there any fee waivers or scholarships available for students at IIT Hyderabad?
A: 

Yes, IIT Hyderabad offers multiple scholarships such as MCM Scholarship, Institute SC/ST Scholarship and Institute Free Studentship Scholarship. IIT Hyderabad also accepts scholarships offered by the government/state government. It offers means-cum-merit scholarships to GEN, GEN-EWS/ OBC students and ST/ SC scholarships at the institute level as well. Candidates applying for IIT Hyderabad scholarships can write an email to the Academics office of IITH, whereas candidates who are applying for scholarships offered by the government/ state government have to apply through the National Scholarship Portal. Q:   What is Merit-cum- means scholarship at IIT Hyderabad?
A: 

Candidates should check the information for Merit-cum-means scholarship:

  • GEN / GEN-EWS / OBC category students can apply
  • Parental Gross Income shall not exceed Rs. 4.5 Lakhs for any category.
  • Income Tax Return (ITR) with Acknowledgement from IT Department has to be submitted as Income Proof of Parents (Father and Mother or Guardian, if any).
  • The number of students to be awarded MCM scholarship will be limited to 25% of the Class Strength.
  • The student should secure a SGPA / CGPA of 7.0 and above with no active backlogs (Fail Grade) in any type of courses (Including Additional courses).
  • Shortlisted students are eligible for Pocket Money of Rs.1,000 per month.
  • Students should avail only a single scholarship / stipend / financial aid, only from a single stakeholder for a given period of time i.e. Students cannot avail multiple scholarships / financial assistance from multiple stakeholders (Govt. / Private / any external agencies) for the same academic year.

Yes, MSc admission at IIT Hyderabad is open for 2026 via the IIT JAM entrance exam. Candidates with a valid IIT JAM score are only eligible for the JAM counselling rounds for final seat allotment.

IIT Hyderabad placement process is conducted in 2 phases. First phase starts in December and continues till January next year. Next phase starts in January and end around April.
