IIT Guwahati MDes Eligibility & Highlight 2025
IIT Guwahati MDes is a regular programme at the Department of Design(DoD). Along with the MDes regular course, it is also offered in Electronic Product Design specialisation. The focus of the programme is on the study, invention, and creative use of technologies to create effective, usable, and enjoyable experiences in the field of Design. The duration of the programme is two years, and the mode of education is full-time.
Admission to MDes is based on the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) conducted by IITs as a part of their central admission procedure. IIT Guwahati shortlists students based on CEED score and invites them for the Design Aptitude Test (conducted at DoD, IITG) followed by an interview and portfolio round.

To be considered for admission to UCEED 2025 participating institutes, the candidates need to meet the following conditions simultaneously:
- Age limit - The candidate needs to be born on or after October 1, 1999. For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, there is a relaxation of five years.
- UCEED 2025 qualification - The candidate must have qualified in the UCEED 2025 entrance exam and must have been allocated a merit rank.
- Qualifying examination - The candidate must have passed all the subjects in the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) in 2023 or should be appearing in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2025.
