The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech/PhD courses will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.
A few more updates are given below:
- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 session 1 admit cards are available for IIT Palakkad admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The admit card is available for students who will appear on Jan 28 and Jan 29, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 admit cards can now be downloaded from the official portal for admission to the MSc course. Further, the IIT JAM exam 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on Feb 15, 2026.

IIT Palakkad admission 2024 is primarily entrance-based. IIT Palakkad offers over 30 courses at UG PG and doctoral levels through 11 departments. The courses include BTech and MTech in Engineering stream. The students are selected based on different national-level entrance tests like JEE Main JEE Advanced GATE etc. Additionally institute also offers PG Certificate courses in Cloud Computing and Cyber Security.
BTech course is offered in five specialisations at IIT Palakkad: Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Data Science Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. It is mandatory to have minimum 75% marks (65% for reserved category) in class 12 to take admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Students should apply for JoSAA conselling only if they fulfill all conditions of eligibility. There are no separate application fees for Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad admissions though students must pay a registration fee of INR 300 up enrollment after admissions. Students must also pay the required entrance exam's own separate registration fees to the conducting body.

Yes if your rank 540 you can secure seat in most engineering programs of IIT Palakkad.
