Dissatisfied with placements and good in all other aspects .

Placements: Nearly 85 percent of the students in my course are placed. The average package is nearly 15 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Hindustan Limited, ONGC, etc. Currently, the placements and internships are not that great due to the placement team’s performance. I think they will improve soon.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are very good. We have well-equipped labs with air conditioning everywhere. The Wi-Fi speed is up to 10 Gbps in the academic areas and 1 Gbps in other places. The library is open nearly 15 hours during normal days and nearly 18 hours during exam periods. The food is also very good compared to other top IITs. We have an indoor sports complex with different types of courts for lawn tennis, basketball, volleyball, football, etc.

Faculty: The faculty are very friendly and helpful. We can approach them any time, and the faculty are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is very relevant and contains only what we need to study. The semester exams are moderately tough, as it is an IIT. The pass percentage is relatively high.

Other: I have a passion for chemical engineering, so I joined this course.

Bad condition of Internship and Placement this year.

Placements: Only 40 out of 300+ students are placed till now, and 3 students out 250+ have got intern till now in speak season of internship and placement. The lowest Package is around 5 Lacs and the highest package is 40 Lacs from Sprinklr. The Top recruitment companies here are: Sprinklr, Accenture, ThoughtSpot, Namo, Mathworks, Amazon.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is fairly nice and up to date here. u2014theostle arises and tidy. The college has good research labs and facilities. The only problem here is with home office and the mess. After every alternate days worms are served. The mess and water facilities are very terrible here.

Faculty: The Faculty here are highly qualified, and with introduction of new NEP, the curriculum is here. The exams are bit hectic as other IITs, 30% is average passing percentage of courses, however, it can vary by instructor. The courses make students partially industry ready, the student needs to put effort by humself/herself to be full industry ready as in other colleges.

Other: If you want to do core research, the faculty members here are helpful, but if you are aiming for placements, don't take admission in this college as it doesn't have any alumni network and connection.

Good infrastructure and good student community.

Placements: In our batch, 75% of students got placed this time. The number is low since the placement officer was changed during the placement season, and he is competent for this role compared to the previous placement officer. The highest is INR 16.5 LPA, the lowest is INR 6.5 LPA, and the average is around INR 10 LPA. The top recruiters are ICICI Bank, TCS Research, Open Data Fabric, Future First, and Jio. 100% of students got internships. Companies like Live&sense, Biocon, Apollo Tyres, and Amar Raja Batteries, as well as two university internships from Texas A&M University and IIT Madras, offer internships. SDE, data analytics, and management roles were offered during placements.

Infrastructure: There are newly setup labs for chemical engineering course work. The equipment is good, but still, a lot of work is yet to be done. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the campus, and the hostels are well maintained. The only issue is the mess food, which has consistent quality.

Faculty: The teaching quality is very good, and they are highly qualified. The course curriculum is relevant. The only inclusion required is adding chemical engineering software courses. Otherwise, with the BTP project, they can become confident in the industry. The semester exams are moderately hard on the whole, and the minimum pass CGPA is 5.5.

Other: There will be multiple events, and there will be an annual techno-cultural festival called Tirutsava. There are many new clubs that are recently focusing on entrepreneurship, AI/data science, and many old clubs on acting, photography, astronomy, and coding. I wish the senior-junior relationship could be improved so that the on-campus experience could be better.

A short overview of IIT Tirupati placements & campus life.

Placements: Approximately 63.49% of students were placed in the 2019 batch. The highest package offered was INR 46 LPA CTC, the median package was INR 16 LPA, and the average package was around INR 17.58 LPA. The top recruitment companies were Amazon, ServiceNow, MathWorks, IBM, GEP, Versa, Accenture, Adobe, Texas Instruments, Sprinklr, Paytm, Deloitte, etc. The internship remained 100%, with the top companies being: Adobe, Sprinklr, GEP, MathWorks, Sprinklr, IBM, etc. The top roles offered were software engineer, consultant, data analyst, etc.

Infrastructure: The labs, library, classrooms, and all the academic buildings have LAN as well as Wi-Fi connections with speeds of 500–800 Mbps on average, while in hostels, we have Wi-Fi, which has an average speed of 200–400 Mbps. All the labs are equipped with expensive infrastructure and world-class, sophisticated machines, making them ideal for research. The hostel food here is better as compared to other IIT's due to its strict policy of tender and penalty processes in the institute. Medical services are available 24x7; the college has a tie-up with a multi-professional hospital; and the students are not charged for medical treatment. In the first year, students are offered shared rooms, and after the second year, single rooms are allotted to all students. The institute has decent sports facilities, with world-class badminton and tennis courts. An institute also has a field for cricket and football activities. There are also separate volleyball courts and a gym.

Faculty: The teachers here are highly qualified, which you would expect in an IIT. There was a recent revision to the course curriculum, in which the course curriculum was updated for some of the courses. Also from this year, NEP is applied to the college, providing flexibility for students to study and do long internships. The semester exams are moderate, as with other IITs, and the passing percentage is around 30–40%, which varies depending on the instructor.

Other: The college has its own annual techno-cultural fest, Tirutsava, which is a 3-day fest in which many exciting workshops and shows are held. Recently, an astronomy fest named Aethereum has started in collaboration with IISER Tirupati.

IIT Tirupati is the fastest growing 3G IIT institute.

Placements: The salary packages offered are excellent and impressive for a 3G IIT. This year, 2022, the highest salary package offered (after Phase-1) is 83 LPA, which was the highest among all 2G as well as 3G IITs because of the locational advantage. In 2021, the highest salary package offered was around 70 LPA. The highest salary package offered is among all 2G and 3G IITs, even overtaking the salary package offered in the IITH and IITI. In the past two years, the placement percentage was more than 95% for all branches and 100% for CSE and EE. The average salary package offered was around 15 LPA to 17 LPA. Many top software, analytics, and core engineering companies visit for internships and placements, like Sprinklr, Microsoft, Mathworks, Google, etc. Many students opt for higher studies and get selected at top universities like ETH Zurich and Stanford.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, as the college is new. Most of the construction of the building is almost done, such as the lecture hall complex, two dining hall buildings, two department buildings, two 500-seat mega hostels, the entire south campus of 50 acres, and the administrative main building.

Faculty: All professors are Ph.D. holders and have an excellent experience. Most of them have foreign exposure, and many are former IITM, IITB, and IITG professors who have shifted from older IITs to establishing a new research group and a lab in IITT. Semester exams are moderately difficult. The course curriculum for the mechanical branch is industry-based, with a wide set of electives open to increase opportunities.

Other: We have sports facilities to play cricket, football, tennis, chess, badminton, etc. We have a gym in the sports complex and in every hostel on the north campus. The annual tech cultural fest is Tirutsava, which is celebrated every March to April. Our college organises huge annual footfall events and is increasing in popularity every year.
