B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2026

Review of Imperial College of Engineering and Research.
Placements: At least 75 to 80 percent of students are interested in the IT company, and others visit more of the campus. The highest package is 21.35 lac and the lowest is 3 lac in a record of 5 years. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Blinkit, Shree Maruti, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is absolutely good there was a peaceful campus with a good library, classrooms, girls hostel and also Wi-Fi with AC provided by the college. The college sports club is very big stadium, and also food court is very nice; the food is extraordinary.
Faculty: The teaching quality is one of the unique and comfortable languages for students, and the teacher staff is Ph.D. Teach also Gold Medal with 1st grade. The semester exams are very helpful for end-of-semester exams. It is also very helpful for students. Also, 75% attendance is mandatory.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty, good placements, really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: The campus placements are completely different than off-campus placements, I have seen person who started preparing just a week before the placements gets into very good company. The best part about campus placements is that they give opportunity to each and every student, whereas in off-campus placements, sometimes after being super-skilled, you cannot get your resume shortlisted. The most important aspect of any campus drive is the aptitude round; often CSE students take aptitude slightly. The students with very good coding skills and top-notch programming knowledge cannot clear his aptitude round. So, my advice to all the students preparing for campus drives is to practice aptitude very well, as it is the first round in almost every company.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is very good. There are 2 boys hostels and a girls hostel, and the hostels are well-maintained. A Wi-Fi facility is available on the campus. A big cricket field, a football ground, a basketball court, and all sports are available. There are 3 meals, and the quality of the food is good and tasty. College buses are available for almost all routes in Chennai, so there will be no issues in travel. Faculty members are quite good and have experience of more than 10 years. Most of them did their graduation from top universities. The course curriculum is excellent and covers all aspects that make students job-ready. Placements are very good in this college; most students are selected by top companies. There is an incubation centre inside the campus that will develop the research and development activities of the students. Students are given training from the second year for innovative projects. It is a very good place to learn.
Faculty: Teachers put heart in their job and connect with students to pass on the content to be delivered. Teachers add value to a student's life by imparting content to develop their ability to think on a daily basis. So, dear friend, they deserve to be grateful for the services provided. Just say thank you for your devoted teaching, all the good words said for me and boosting my morale. Thank you for those learning ticks, which I will cherish in building my aptitude. Thank you for the repeated corrections leading to doing things right.
Other: I chose this course to help and provide education to sick people.

Best time of Life was spent here.
Placements: CS IT students get placements, but mechanical students do not get even 10% of placements. 10-15 students are placed by the college; most of us are placed in regional Pune companies, with a few placed in Mahindra & Mahindra and Skoda. The salary offered is 25,000/month. We all get internships because it is in the syllabus, but no stipend is provided. The roles offered are maintenance engineer and design engineer.
Infrastructure: College location is easily accessible, and the infrastructure and campus are cool. Free internet is available everywhere, but there is a mobile network issue on the campus. Classrooms are big and have facilities like fans, tables, and projectors. Hostel rooms and facilities are good, but its food is not good. We have a nearby canteen, but it has only good tea, not food.
Faculty: Teachers are very good; they support us in projects like E-baha, Samaskara competition. We together built an E-racing bike. The course curriculum is designed by Savitribai Phule University. Semester exams are difficult, and we don't have combined passing; we have to score 40% in all kinds of exams.
Other: In college, the mobile network is very low sometimes; we can't make urgent calls, and that needs to be fixed.

An average college for mechanical.
Placements: I got placed in Yazaki India, but only a few from our class secured placements. I remember a company from MIDC came to hire us at 8000/month, which was very disheartening. No top companies came to recruit. In internships, no stipend is provided; good internships only hire CS students. The top role offered is Maintenance Engineer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good; I loved the campus greenery and the fresh environment. We can study in the garden during exam times. Wi-Fi is available everywhere on campus, including the canteen and library. Hostel rooms are small, but I really enjoyed that time; no ragging happens, making it a very safe place. The mess food quality is good, and they provide fruits along with meals. The playground for sports is in the backyard of the college.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, especially our department HOD, who is very supportive and friendly in nature. After completing chapters, we have to present any topic from the chapters in front of our class. The course curriculum is relevant to the industry. Semester exams are difficult; a combined passing score of 40% is needed to clear a subject.
Other: For mechanical, I recommend considering other colleges, but for gaining knowledge, our college is good.

Reality and my experience.
Placements: In reality, placement is good only for computer people; for me, placements are the worst. Apart from our curriculum, we have to go through Python, C, and cloud computing to get placed at TCS and Cognizant. Most of our batch got internships instead of full-time jobs, and after 6 months, most of us got terminated.
Infrastructure: The college campus is fresh and green, and buildings have facilities like lifts and physical disability services. Free Wi-Fi is available in college; the hostel is only for girls, not for us but in the area, many rooms and mess facilities are available, and the canteen food is fresh and good.
Faculty: Teachers are the best thing I got in this college, more than friends and family; in teaching, qualification, and guidance, they are the best. Course curricula make students industry-ready; they consist of the latest technologies. Semester exams are held in an 80-20 pattern: 80 for the end semester and 20 internal.
Other: I chose this course because I don't know; later in my third year, I realized I might have to choose CS or IT.

Good college but need to improve some things.
Placements: Placements in college for mech and civil were not good; we had to learn a coding language, DBMS, and that training was provided by the college and then students were placed in IT companies like TCS and Wipro. Only a few students got placed; the average package is 3 LPA and the highest package is 6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure was excellent, with plenty of greenery on campus and comfortable classrooms. Hostel is only for girls; there is no hostel for boys. We have to stay in rented rooms; the canteen food is good; on-campus sports fields are present; if anyone is injured, medical facilities like first aid are present.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and the college T&P cell is very active; they organized various trainings and webinars related to campus placements. The course curriculum is relevant to the course; there is more practicality in the course. Semester exams are difficult to pass; only 70% of students cleared them.

I am satisfied because of its helpful faculty and good infrastructure.
Placements: Around 70% of students were placed in 2021-2022. The highest salary package was 4 LPA, and the average was 2 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, etc. Approximately 50% of students got internships from our course.
Infrastructure: Our college has good facilities and a good infrastructure. The campus is huge. It has Wi-Fi, classrooms, and a big library. There is no hostel for boys. There is only a girls' hostel with strict rules. Our college has two canteens, which are also very good.
Faculty: Teachers and all the other staff members at our college are very helpful and kind. Teaching quality is best. Students at our college are ready for the industry. Semester exams are very hard. They do not allow malpractice. The pass percentage is nearly 75%.

Review of Imperial College of Engineering and Research.
Placements: Our college has good placements. Many students got placed in the 2022 batch. More than 324 offers were made with the highest package of 18 LPA. The top recruiting campus companies are TCS, Infosys, Capgemini and many more tech giants. Every student gets placed with the help of faculty members.
Infrastructure: The hostel is good, and the rooms are pretty well-maintained. The food is good. Great facilities are available, such as Wi-Fi, library, and good labs. Labs have all the equipment and apparatus required to perform practicals. Wi-Fi is available. A library is available with all the books. The classrooms are well-maintained.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and supportive. They are very well-qualified and have great knowledge. This college faculty make students industry-ready and help them build a bright future. Semester exams are pretty hard but make students shine in their future and help them grow in the industry.
Other: I chose this course because of its industry requirements and demand. I think the mechanical curriculum should include coding as well, which will help students in many ways.
