There are a total of 141 seats for the JIPMER MD course. The seats are further bifurcated among the different MD specialisations. The highest seat count is for MD in General Medicine, which is 20. The period of training for MD course is three completed years including the examinations  period at JIPMER Puducherry. However, for the students with a two-year PG Diploma in the same subject, the period of training shall be two years.
